Hunslet 102 Posted June 8, 2013 Posted June 8, 2013 Just for info that may be of interest to someone,http://www.modelfair.com have the above locomotive for sale at a buy it now price of £79.50.It states it is little used, with maybe a jumper cable missing from each end,but otherwise is virtually as new.Certainly seems a big price difference from the other main stockists. Tarabuses Posted June 9, 2013 Posted June 9, 2013 Wouldn't very little used be second hand? Who used it? Quote
Riversuir226 Posted June 9, 2013 Posted June 9, 2013 Once the money is handed over its considered second hand , if model fair say its in as new condition except for the jumper cables id be satisfied that she d be a good one. Problem I have is trying to avoid buying it. Quote
Warbonnet Posted June 9, 2013 Posted June 9, 2013 Bought some 2nd hand stuff off Modelfair in the past and the service is very good. Stuff sold as described. Mind you their postage rates have gone right up over the past 18 months. Quote
Riversuir226 Posted June 9, 2013 Posted June 9, 2013 I bought a 141 of them a few years back, it was secondhand but she was immaculate, when t to install a chip in her only to find a chip there already. Agreed the postage charges are really bad now and has put me off buying on ebay and other UK based sites. Quote
burnthebox Posted June 10, 2013 Posted June 10, 2013 Have to remember guys the postage cost's is not the various shops that are causing these high prices, but it's the UK version of Anpost, Quote
Warbonnet Posted June 10, 2013 Posted June 10, 2013 Have to remember guys the postage cost's is not the various shops that are causing these high prices, but it's the UK version of Anpost, It wasnt when they ramped them up 18 months ago. They were nearly 3 times the price of Hattons. The big RM increase was more recently I believe. Quote
PVS Posted September 14, 2013 Posted September 14, 2013 I'll let you know about the modelfair 201; Just bought it. Quote
PVS Posted October 5, 2013 Posted October 5, 2013 Absolutely fine; nothing missing, mint condition. A real bargain. Modelfair are having a sale and have reduced 071 in s/b freight livery to £144 odd. My flexible friend got me one of those too. Postage? by current standards not bad at all. Recommended service. Quote
