Irish Rail tea trolleys!

Quite a lot of chat about this on the radio today. Hopefully it won't be too long until we can get a cup of tea again!

Trouble is, they haven’t been financially self-supporting on almost all routes for decades and the government will only fund the transport element. I agree, though, badly missed.

The NTA won’t pay for the catering-their idea is that you purchase your supplies prior to departing from your home station and consume on board,

In later years there are coffee shops and supermarkets within walking distances of most if not all major stations.

Enterprise services are so rammed the old tea trolley has trouble getting through the train

I see the point, but if you're getting the 0530 from Galway, I think it's reasonable to be able to get a cup of tea on board the train.

Amazed yesterday when thevtea trolley appeared on the Derry Line for the first time I have seen since 2020!
