dave182
What a surreal picture! All the more bizarre is the brake van full of... What ever they are?! Elves? It looks like a scene from the Polar Express!
Broithe
Some really odd things have been happening lately - pineapples, grannies, etc - and largely in Limerick......
josefstadt
its a wonder that 461 isnt pulling her as she is in limerick too! According to The Wanderer: 'Sadly due to operational issues between Limerick City of Culture 2014, Iarnrod Eireann & the RPSI. 461 wasn't used to haul the Grandmother Giant into Limerick'. I wonder what happened.

tonybonneyba
Just why these questions are in my head about the two wagons in the pic above.... 1)Is that a container wagon? 2)What type of brake van is that & when was it last used? Does it get used often?
heirflick
great coverage of the event by the wanderer.....like the granny but love that breakvan!
Mayner
Great to see the local IE management getting the railway involved in the European City of Culture street theatre events. The event had major spin off effects for Glasgow and other cities that had suffered from poor press. Hopefully its good for Limerick as a city and some of the extra visitors arrive by train. The Giant Grandmother thing reminds me of a cross between Mrs Browne and in Gulliver's Travels'
