richrua Posted October 7, 2014 Posted October 7, 2014 For a few years now I have been lucky enough to take my class of primary school kids on the train for their school trip. We go to Cultra to see the amazing collection. Going by train makes the whole thing ten times better. Today, on this years trip, as we waited for our trains we were treated to a dashing dmu that didn't stop; the yellow class 80 perm way thing (possibly - I was keeping an eye on the safety of the kids too.....) and best of all the 201 enterprise roared past us at breakneck speed much to the delight of the kids (errr and me). The staff on the NI trains were as always wonderfully helpful. Great day out.
Kirley Posted October 8, 2014 Posted October 8, 2014 From the sounds of it you saw all the NIR rolling stock in one day!
16miller Posted January 22, 2015 Posted January 22, 2015 lol. yea. And Falcon at Cultra too ! Personally I'd love to see 102 out and running!
jhb171achill Posted January 23, 2015 Posted January 23, 2015 Excellent stuff! That's a good job to have..... like a latter day Drew Donaldson, who imbued several generations of Belfast "Inst" railway enthusiasts with a love of railways.
enniscorthyman Posted January 23, 2015 Posted January 23, 2015 When I started with an Post in 1992, for a while I did get to bring the evening mail to Enniscorthy Station.Singel 121s were a common sight then
