Liverbird81 Posted November 23, 2014 Posted November 23, 2014 Are hornby mk2d ok to use for ex gatwick Nir stock
hurricanemk1c Posted November 23, 2014 Posted November 23, 2014 Not perfect - different toilet configuration and seats are different, but not that much different. Bachmann are producing Mark 2F's which are identical (bodyshell wise) to the Gatwick stock.

I wonder would there be enough demand for a retailer or Murphy Models to commission a batch repainted into NIR livery?
Liverbird81 Posted November 23, 2014 Author Posted November 23, 2014 I would say there would be I plan to repaint mine into red bull livery no gem van tho. Is it a mk 1 brake with every window filled in bar a few doors
Liverbird81 Posted November 23, 2014 Author Posted November 23, 2014 Sorry not a mk1 brake a mk2 brake
hurricanemk1c Posted November 24, 2014 Posted November 24, 2014 For Gat Ex stock it was a Mark 2 brake that was converted to gen van - It was a Mark 2B Brake First Corridor with BR
Blaine Posted November 24, 2014 Posted November 24, 2014 Are hornby mk2d ok to use for ex gatwick Nir stock Like I said the last time - No - Lima Mk2F or wait for the new Bachmann models to arrive
Blaine Posted November 24, 2014 Posted November 24, 2014 I wonder would there be enough demand for a retailer or Murphy Models to commission a batch repainted into NIR livery? Why do MM have to be involved with everything now
BosKonay Posted November 24, 2014 Posted November 24, 2014 I doubt it would 'fit' with MM to commission repaints. But certainly it's comething the model shops have done before (Class 150, Autoballasters, Dapol Coaches, etc)
Liverbird81 Posted November 24, 2014 Author Posted November 24, 2014 Belfast model shop closed so unfortunately it's DIY time

Blaine Posted November 24, 2014 Posted November 24, 2014 Then why answer the remark so personally A stupid question deserves a stupid answer....
Warbonnet Posted November 24, 2014 Posted November 24, 2014 Then why answer the remark so personally I fail to see how he did.
Liverbird81 Posted November 24, 2014 Author Posted November 24, 2014 Well then I'm the amateur curious modeller I'm so sorry for my ignorance. But as this QT was not about the model shop I'm not continuing this conversation
Warbonnet Posted November 24, 2014 Posted November 24, 2014 Well then I'm the amateur curious modeller I'm so sorry for my ignorance. But as this QT was not about the model shop I'm not continuing this conversation You're more than welcome to ask questions and learn but I fail to see how BosKonay offended you. There was no need to get smart about it. I think you've received good advice on your query and it was you after all who brought up the Model Shop Belfast piece in the first place. We'll leave the thread there.
BosKonay Posted November 24, 2014 Posted November 24, 2014 Sorry for any confusion. I was simply clarifying that the Modelshop Belfast are not closed down. Additionally the last respray venture was a joint effort between themodelshop.ie and Marks models iirc?
