Noel Posted October 15, 2015 Posted October 15, 2015 Looks nice. Thanks for the photos. They have retained window blinds in 1st class which is essential for business travellers. Makes Mk4 'city gold' on the Cork line look rather shabby. As a cost cutting exercise they have taken the curtains off the Mk4 city gold coaches. How can you use a laptop or tablet in sunlight without some form of window shade or curtain??? Our northern cousins know how to do things properly. The enterprise sets look great. Quote

GM 076 was in charge of the train with the help of GM 217, which was the Cork thunderbird loco. 217 at Cobh Junction with the Cobh-Cork working. 076 at Carrigtwohill with the Cork-Midleton working. 217 departing Midleton with the working to Cork. It resulted in an unusual 11 car ICR formation (split into a 3 and a 4+4) with the majority of the front coach off the platform. It's a classic shot of the Ten Arch bridge (as it is known locally even though it hasn't existed since '22). Green bridge, green rake and no foliage so plenty visibility with a low lying sun.
