0 Dave Posted March 2, 2015 Posted March 2, 2015 What type, English, American etc? Sean Ryan that organises the Toys of Yesterday fair in Bray deals in N Gauge. He could make up a starter set for you as I was talking to him yesterday about an N gauge American starter set I want to put into a coffee table. Quote
0 Chevron Posted March 2, 2015 Author Posted March 2, 2015 American would be the one for me. i just love the look of those locos. Quote

0 Warbonnet Posted March 2, 2015 Posted March 2, 2015 (edited) Kato and Atlas do the best quality stuff in N gauge American outline. Their stuff is superb and reasonably priced. Edited March 2, 2015 by Warbonnet Quote
0 Dave Posted March 2, 2015 Posted March 2, 2015 Most of the stuff Sean does is Kato, I have my eye on a lovely set. Quote

0 Noel Posted March 2, 2015 Posted March 2, 2015 I have vague but fond memories of an amazing model railway shop in Rathfarnham over 40 years ago that had an N, Z and OO gauge layout on display in store. Quote

Is that the shop that was in the shopping centre? I remember getting a few bargains there when it was closing down. Quote
0 WRENNEIRE Posted March 2, 2015 Posted March 2, 2015 The shop was called The Hobby Horse Its last owner John Byrne passed away recently, Ar dheis Dé go raibh a n-anam These are some of the Lima Irish N Gauge range that were bought there Quote

Well a row of shops but I believe it had been called a shopping centre, back in a time when small things in Ireland easily impressed us all. But yes it was a cracking good model shop, the best I can ever remember anywhere in Ireland. The layouts, space and in store displays seemed second to none, but might just be my 'rose tinted glasses'. It was the first time I had ever seen a Z gauge layout. Quote
