fishplate7 Posted November 19, 2017 Posted November 19, 2017 Here's a very interesting website - Britain From Above! There are plenty of photos from the 1930's to the 1950's, and there are plenty of photos of Ireland! You have to register, which is free, but after that, there is an amazing wealth of information to be found. Here are just two examples: - O'Connell Street, Dublin in 1933, and Tralee, County Kerry in 1934. The images are zoomable once you register and you can zoom in closer than what I have posted. The detail is amazing! This looks like a fantastic resource for us modellers! The website is www.britainfromabove.org.uk Eamonn 1 1 Quote
jhb171achill Posted November 20, 2017 Posted November 20, 2017 Best view I've seen of Rock Street Yard. I wish I had known about it to include in "Rails Through North Kerry"! Quote
Noel Posted November 20, 2017 Posted November 20, 2017 Super photo. Tralee used to be a major railway station and significant junction with Fenit, Dingle, Listowel, etc. The OSI map viewer is great when viewing the "historic 25 inch" maps. Shows every single piece of railway track in detail when the railways were at their zenith, especially for goods traffic. Quote
Mike258747 Posted November 21, 2017 Posted November 21, 2017 Great photos and thanks for posting the link. I am not very familiar with Tralee but is that the terminus of the T&D on the extreme right of the picture? Quote

Broithe Posted November 21, 2017 Posted November 21, 2017 Looking through all the pictures that come up with an "Ireland" search, there seems to be quite a few that they are unsure of the location of. They might be happy to receive any suggestions from people on here who might recognise any of them. Quote
