ei9go Posted September 27, 2018 Posted September 27, 2018 (edited) I have come across a CIE Orange Livery Hymec Diesel Locomotive Model and two carriages. When I search on line this appears to be an R.768 but mine reads R.758 on the base. I thought at first it was my eyes but no it's definitely R.758. Anyone know if this is a different model. waffles Posted September 27, 2018 Posted September 27, 2018 I know that the loco was available separately in its own box which would have a different R issue number than the one in two, train sets that the class 35. Quote
Tarabuses Posted September 27, 2018 Posted September 27, 2018 (edited) My understanding is that R758 was the original British Railways model of the Hymek while R768 was used for the Irish "variant". Edited September 27, 2018 by Tarabuses Quote

If my memory is correct this one was part of the 'Slainte Express' train set. The BR blue one came as part of a container train set complete with an operating container crane. Quote
ei9go Posted September 27, 2018 Author Posted September 27, 2018 That's the one with the two carriages Quote
WRENNEIRE Posted September 27, 2018 Posted September 27, 2018 Catalogued as R768 but the original BR Hymek body was used so stamped as R758 http://irishrailwaymodeller.com/topic/150-lima-murphy-models/?page=11 Quote
