Irishswissernie Posted November 16, 2018 Posted November 16, 2018 (edited) My mate Dave Dunn has recently received a collection of slides/negatives etc from a relative of a deceased photographer which will be added to the Armstrong Railway Photographic Trust Archive. All 'big island' images apart from an album containing 17 old postcard prints but no negatives taken in April 1949, mainly on the old NCC at Belfast, York Road. I have added them to ERNIE's Railway Archive although the Copyright is not known,as it is possible that the negatives no longer exist. Does any of the ones below ring a bell ? EDIT : I keep forgetting that if I bung em on here it doesn't display the flickr captions. The shed is Ballymena and the yard York Road. Date for all the photos is 6 April 1949. A couple of the others are Coleraine and there is one at Portrush. Check out the flickr album it also has most of the loco numbers/details. The remainder are in this album https://www.flickr.com/photos/irishswissernie/albums/72157626750300070 Edited November 16, 2018 by Irishswissernie 6 Quote
jhb171achill Posted November 16, 2018 Posted November 16, 2018 I did a double take there as one of them looked like one of my dad’s! On comparing, his is of the same class of loco and a similar angle! My dad’s NCC photos were taken between (from memory) 1944 and 1947. Quote
Patrick Davey Posted November 16, 2018 Posted November 16, 2018 Top one looks like Ballymena shed and bottom looks like York Road. Looking forward to looking at the full album, thanks for the info! Quote

leslie10646 Posted November 29, 2018 Posted November 29, 2018 Can't help you on the photographer, Ernie, but they are VERY nice - some really golden shots among them - like the Festival Express, the train at Whitehead Excursion and the shots of the Mogul on the 1964 Joint Tour. Thanks for sharing them. Quote
