BosKonay Posted October 2, 2012 Posted October 2, 2012 Hi all, just to advise I'm doing a little 'back room' work on the server today, there may be a few momentary blips as services are restarted
heirflick Posted October 2, 2012 Posted October 2, 2012 are you boldly going where no mod went before?
BosKonay Posted October 2, 2012 Author Posted October 2, 2012 Ok all done For those technically minded, the server is now running NGINX to handle all the PHP and dynamic stuff, and Varnish CACHE on the server also. Based on third party tests, the home page load time has gone from an average of 3 seconds to 1.2 seconds, and the cpu and ram usage has dropped by half If you spot anything banjaxed, let me know Otherwise, hopefully, things should be a little nippier from now on.
WRENNEIRE Posted October 2, 2012 Posted October 2, 2012 Saw one banjaxed yoke Bosco He's called burnthebox!!! Nic Nic
BosKonay Posted October 2, 2012 Author Posted October 2, 2012 There's no amount of technical wizardry will fix that I'm 'fraid

Scottie beam me up
BosKonay Posted October 2, 2012 Author Posted October 2, 2012 The layman's version is 'It should now be a wee bit faster and able to handle more people at once'

In other words you replaced the main spring.
