airfixfan
There is an article on UTA Festival coaches from 1951 in current issue. This is what I am told as despite the magazine being published a week ago my subscriber copy has yet to arrive. Has anyone else got the December issue of Backtrack to confirm that there is an article yet?

airfixfan
Thanks David. Phoned today and as usual they blamed Coid and the Royal Mail. Strange as Heritage Railway arrived on time and another magazine arrived 2 days early.

airfixfan
January issue out now has an article on Last Days of steam in NI. This was also theme of the excellent film show last night by Leslie of this parish for the IRRS London branch. Was just brilliant with a few teasing glimpses of the CDR. Thanks Leslie Edited December 11, 2020 by airfixfan

Mike 84C
To both humble scribes! many thanks. The Festival train and coaches I knew little about but we all must know about the Jeeps last years. It was the detail that interested me, like how few Jeeps there were to work that volume of traffic and fill in for failed railcars and specials. With very little maintenance or backup, for me that speaks volumes about the men that crewed them and the basic design of the locomotive.
