AddressPal - New Home Delivery option

An post prices were reasonable at one time, but as you say the registered postage is very expensive these days. Sometimes I now use GLS/Parcel Force as depending on what you are sending it can work out a bit cheaper especially if sending larger parcels and the parcel is delivered in three working days, all tracked and signed for too. It would be handy if there was an equivalent of address pal here in Ireland. PS, if its a fault with the loco then Hornby may refund the postage cost to you.

Thought it was €3.75 to collect from post office, or has the price been increased?

    Abandoned Eurostar

Even a servicing facillatiy being built at Longsight (Manchester) for the eurostar sets. Would have been good if the proposals for the north of London Eurostar's took off along with the planned overnight trains, but I think the advent of the low-cost airlines at the time put paid to that.

    UK Model Railway Exhibitions

Hi David, who did you contact re: Glasgow? I have tried to contact them a coupe of times previously via their website but got no replay or acknowledgment from them. Regards, John
  10. This is one on my current on-going projects. The track plan is based on an 0 gauge layout called Swansea Riverside which was built by a member of the Luton Model railway club of which I am a former member. After seeing this layout, it was thought a good idea to try and replicate the plan in different scales and era's, I believe there that there are versions in 00 and N gauge and even one in Z gauge. My version is Canadian/US based, set somewhere in Canada near the US border but not set in any particular location or era, there is a mix of locomotives from various railroads that use the fuelling and light maintenance facilities at Campbell Riverside. The scenic part of the layout is 6' x 1' and is on two boards for easy transportation. It is DCC operated and at present one loco is sound fitted.

    Campbell Riverside

Hi all, It has been another great year showing my Campbell Riverside layout. This year it was shown at Wexford, Bangor (Co. Down) & Belfast. I was also going to be at the south Dublin show in October but due to unforeseen circumstances had to pull out. As for 2018 there are currently no bookings for Campbell Riverside, this will hopefully give me time to make a few improvements to the layout. Also I have my 0 gauge layout 'Swanbourne Vale Light Railway' which I have been asked to take to Wexford & Belfast in 2018, http://www.rmweb.co....-2#entry2892358., so I need to do some more work with that before next Easter! Regards, John
  12. Hi Mods/Admin. For some reason I can not access the US/Canadian section of IRM. I get message saying I do not have permission to view this content and error code 1F176/3 Regards, John
  13. I think a similar idea was discussed on RMweb sometime ago, not sure if it ever came to fruition or not. But would be a good idea if something could be introduced for IRM members to wear and possibly to display on their layouts at exhibitions and shows too.
  14. Would you be needing any Peco 0 gauge bullhead flexible track? I have 2 boxes still unused,(each box has 12 yards track). I can bring to Enniskillen on Saturday if interested. Would be looking for £50.00 / €60.00 per box. Regards, John * Now provisionally sold *
  15. I will be there with my new 0 gauge layout.

    Modular OO Layouts

Hi, Just wondering and not sure if its been mentioned already, to avoid the discrepancy with scenery on various modules how about if each module or a couple of modules were built as a diaroma so when set up would not look out of place with other modules. Regards, John
