  2. Now Accurascale/IRM have branched out into TT:120 how about shrinking the MK2's down. https://www.accurascale.com/en-eu/products/tt120-accurascale-research-team-three-figure-pack?syclid=co7d4pch33ns739pj2n0&utm_campaign=emailmarketing_148410532025&utm_medium=email&utm_source=shopify_email
  3. Disappointed about lack of announcement this morning. Would have at least expected a class 50 in Black & Tan livery.
  4. Are we going to have another production run of the Irish Deltic as the original sold out on the day of the announcement?
  5. Modellbahn Union have some listed, https://www.modellbahnunion.com/e-vendo.php?shop=modellbahn-union-en&a=news&filter=k3274g4152p6542
  6. Most coaches can be mixed and matched, the main thing to remember is the very early MK11's (not MK2a onwards) were vacuum braked only i think?? Also MK1's were mostly vacuum braked some I think being dual braked. MK3's there are two versions, the loco hauled and the HST main difference the HST MK3s had 3 phase electrical systems and no buffers. On your layout if in doubt just apply rule 1 Some good information in these PDF books. https://archive.rcts.org.uk/product-category/coaching-stock-books/

    Help

Also, if you can, a copy of your track plan would help.
  8. Good that the database is still going to be available. It would be great if they introduced a Trunk service like Hatton's used to have and have the various shipping options without having to worry about the customs and VAT hassle.
  9. Another one on the |Facebook Model |Rail Buying and selling group! https://www.facebook.com/groups/ModelRailBuyingAndSelling/permalink/6684721468296028/?sale_post_id=6684721468296028 I know manufacturers and model shops don't want stock hanging around too long, but the way they do the limited production runs these days don't really help matters.
  10. Does anyone actually use twitter?
  11. Thanks Dave, I currently have 7 Hornby and 8 Lima 50's. Will have to kindly ask Fran if he will send me an accurascale sample or do you have to be one of those youtubers with mega likes and viewers lol...
  12. My current collection of 50's mix of Hornby and Lima. Would be nice to have an accurascale/IRM model one day.
  13. What was the fee for the VAT/Customs handling charge if you don't mind me asking? Anpost I think charge €3.50.
  14. W&H models, that's going back a bit! Went to the shop in New Cavendish street a few times in the late 1980's before they closed down. was a great shop for central London.
  15. Could join forces with Westminster and there would be enough power for years to come.
  16. Very sad news indeed. Disapointing for us modellers not living in the UK as they were very effiecent with thier service despite the hassle of 'Brexit'!! Also would like to say that Hatton's customer service was/is first class as when I have had any issues with orders they were sorted out very quickly. Like many of us who live 'overseas' they were indeed our 'Local' model shop.

    Customs & VAT

Had an email from Hattons earlier today about overseas orders. Looks like they may be changing how they will ship overseas orders in the near future. I have copied and pasted the email, expect all non uk customers will have had same. "Dear john At Hattons, we strive to continuously enhance your shopping experience, and we have an important update to share regarding changes to our shopping cart and taxation system. Within the next couple of weeks, we will implement adjustments to our system to ensure that you are charged the correct tax at the time of purchase. This change is part of our commitment to transparency and compliance with local tax regulations in your region. As a valued international customer, we want to bring this to your attention to ensure a smooth transition. The good news is that if you despatch the items in your trunk within the next week, you will be exempt from any additional tax costs associated with these changes. Please note that local customs duties and courier fees may still be charged, we are working on expanding this system to correctly cover landed fees in the future. We understand the importance of budgeting for your hobby, and we want to make sure you have the opportunity to make the most of this window. We appreciate your understanding and continued support as we work to improve our services. If you have any questions or concerns regarding these changes, please don't hesitate to reach out to our customer experience team. Thank you for being a valued member of the Hattons community. We look forward to serving you and providing the best model railway products for your enjoyment."

Hatton's now offer additional shipping options with Evri/Fastway and DPD which are both cheaper than DHL. Republic of Ireland £3.50 Royal Mail. Zone 05. Airmail Untracked. Weighs between 001g and 300g when packed. Ave 3-5 day transit time. £5 EVRI International via Fastway. Ireland. Weighs between 001g and 300g when packed. Ave 2-4 day transit time. £8.96 Royal Mail. Western Europe. Airmail "Signed for". Weighs between 001g and 300g when packed. Avg 3-5 day transit time. £9 DPD Republic of Ireland. 2-day with tracking up to 10kg £23 DHL Express Priority. Insured, tracked & signed-for. Delivered 1 working day after despatch. Zone 1 - up to 1kg
  20. Unfortunately they don't post outside the UK. They often have some good offers though.
  21. These be any good to you? https://www.hattons.co.uk/392882/peter_s_spares_psp_65_replacement_carbon_brush_and_springs_for_hornby_ringfield_motors_pack_of_10/stockdetail

    Customs & VAT

You should not pay any VAT or customs from Hatton's s they are registered for Irish VAT, have you contacted then and asked if they will will refund you? They have always been helpful when I used to have items sent via Anpost who kept wanting to charge Customs duty when they felt like it! I now use their trunk service and when sufficient items ship via DHL, more expensive shipping but so far no hassle or bother with customs or VAT.
  23. You must be modelling non stop Darius, do you ever sleep?
