  1. As DJ says, additional bracing , glued and screwed will give you a good solid baseboard. depending on the thickness of your baseboard tops, bracing will need to be about every 12" - 18" apart.
  2. @BosKonay, if you have a spare sample to send to the west of Ireland for 'review' purposes,
  3. Looks like it may be a problem for stuff that I/We currently get shipped 'up North'!! Wonder how it will work with the Parcel Motels? The BBC article is also not very clear about items going the other way, when sending stuff from the North to the mainland.
  4. I quite like the Lima coaches, the only downside is the tension lock couplings. The Mk1's would benefit with replacing the tiny round buffers for some oval ones. I have recently got a few for a good price of eBay recently. Another advantage if you can get them cheap is they are good for practicing repainting with or doing conversions.
  5. Marklin My World remote control goods train set in good condition. Just requires batteries to operate. €55.00

    Customs & VAT

Yes, VAT is payable, but customs/import duty is not.
  7. You could always repaint it if its not the livery you want.
  8. Are they going to be fitted with 3link/instanter couplings as shown the pics? Looking good. Now if you have a spare sample to send down to Mayo to compare with my Parkside and Airfix ones....
  9. Kernow, Rails and TMC and I think Gaugemaster ship to Ireland with VAT deducted, so you pay the Irish VAT @ 23% and customs charges here. Alternatively, you could get items sent up North. If interested in European N gauge, as others have mentioned there are a few good shops in Germany.
  10. I know what you mean, its more relaxed and friendly here.
  11. Already three pages of it over on RMweb https://www.rmweb.co.uk/forums/topic/189184-hornby-rationalisation-of-brands-sale-of-lcd-enterprises/page/3/#comment-5666287
  12. Most of my UK orders I get sent to Parcel Motel in Belcoo now.
  13. Just tried a 'virtual' order, however they don't seem to deduct the UK VAT so in addition to that you will be paying an extra 23% plus the courier handling fees!
  14. Yes, they carried coal from the coal collieries to the power stations, and were designed for automatic unloading while still moving at slow speeds in the power stations, Class 47/3's were modified with slow speed control for this and later the class 56 and 58 locos too. Originally class 50's were equipped for slow speed for control too but was never used so was removed.
  15. Any news updates in relation to class 50, Hoovers? Seems to have been quite for a while unless I have missed any updates recently. Need to know if its worth adding to my Hornby and Lima collection. Only 35 more to collect out of 50 lol .
  16. Snap! not sure what is going on with the RM distribution, thought they would have sorted it by now, especially since having issues sines the April 2024 copy.
  17. Could try swapping the tension lock couplings with the Roco/Hornby type of close coupling. https://uk.hornby.com/products/pocket-coupling-pack-10-r8220
  18. No need, Google translate,, and they speak perfect English in Holland. @DJ Dangerous Have you enough containers?
  19. Love Rule No.2 , I need to extend my layout.
  20. Just seen this on ebay if anyone is interested; https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/296756011015?_skw=lima+train+set&itmmeta=01JAJXSENJH49JNZSXRWD5TSWX&hash=item4518096007:g:QBgAAOSwTVlnD9Vv&itmprp=enc%3AAQAJAAAA0HoV3kP08IDx%2BKZ9MfhVJKkOQJ3ozxZhS3At7%2BCR8FLQ7UhImQxvydnEqJWhLg3LmHZOWt%2BQKc3Pn4PXbsAytPcaKYVPv%2FOmq0flHYemUwSJiCnY0Rcy6a5KUMa3fXFpXg%2B%2F4wgp0OCigLdbmDqL5Uj0vV08UtZGRFgX6p%2FsJ7kBe8NgaoKdKE7BE2aa9%2BMQ6d5kCmM1yBKgrlBo55FJgkON2%2BtyYOWY4KdJ--XV%2BMwU34HUJkNyg7SWkJd71qWH4wIFbny9f76C7w%2Fpf98%2BKvM%3D|tkp%3ABk9SR_Lq5d3UZA https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/296756014989?_skw=lima+train+set&itmmeta=01JAJXSENJ5MFBZ1PW6T541JM8&hash=item4518096f8d:g:CzMAAOSwGSlnD9az&itmprp=enc%3AAQAJAAAA8HoV3kP08IDx%2BKZ9MfhVJKkTILEzQPP%2BDDHmn%2BksIv2lwur7QhU1N6GQAKOCgcXrRLBk8hTm%2BW8BW2dfkRh6iOjZ3IDq3Lwp35h6EFm%2BiNqkEb9IYcjkxB4aJk6S0Sx8Hu6h3AWPv6QbUpkWJaxCauXcNBOPNcUN4Asxzi9c4O%2Fq2NaIA6nLfLKFmAcX%2FeiW74XmuiuA1TRESPyp%2FMGPJHyesmx%2Fi9rL9LKyW1Q2F%2Fdxy6uZzZv58b4DOzJf6Iy3xe2llyiRky9FVSjzASXuX7eD%2FG6WzJwwKbVXnVrcej%2BptKTSjbbZq1zQVurq61rePA%3D%3D|tkp%3ABk9SR_Lq5d3UZA
  21. Replacement October copy recieved today. No sign of origional copy. Just wait and see when November issue turns up??
  22. November Modeller out today and still waiting for my October copy! Emailed RM subs department last week and told a replacement being sent out once again.
  23. Just someone on youtube who is anti Hornby and TT:120! Why did they not complain about the Heljan sale recently at Rails, going on his theory Heljan must be in financial trouble too. The current Hornby offer is to celebrate two years since TT range was introduced, it gives them chance to make space in the warehouse for new stock coming in the next couple of months and also a bargain or two for us modellers.
  24. Spanish customs must have been checking to see if you ordered the correct livery one.
