Maybe with the lockdown people have realised they need to take a bit more time on themselves if they can for peace of mind.
Its a Very nice set up. Will you be exhibiting it at some stage?

Thanks for putting up the link,
I watched the 2nd part but was Mentally exhausted today after some bright spark decided to ship 20 tons of Cheese in 2 trucks from the UK to Rosslare without any paperwork. Amazing when the UK lorry driver could not bring a sandwich into Holland some weeks back so not sure how the chaps arranging this one were gonna get this one into Ireland
I see it was recorded so will watch when suitably refreshed

A lot of interesting comment here re Hornby's (or the current iteration of Hornby) ethics - I expect nothing more (or less?) in the commercial world these days, I'm afraid.
Getting back to model railways, "My Man" (ie the genius who makes my kits) says that the Hornby six wheelers are very good - he bought a sample Southern six wheeler on eBay, I believe, and was full of praise - even though he makes SR six wheelers as kits (but won't be any more!).
like George, above, I'll be coughing up for unrebuilt Merchant Navy!
The Blue MN are very very tasty! Would suit Strong Country for sure!

Corr they look very nice.

Well that went well except I glued a LED wire under the Deck and a cross beam but that sorted now and the little Light rewired and the LED working under the Bow which will look nice on Sailing a dusk which I have never done!
I then soldered up some White metal and Brass rod for the voice pipes for the Bridge and started on the Binnacle using some 9mm dowl and coffer sticks sanded smooth! Needs to be Paint next.
The Bow plate was also glued down with PVA and Left to Dry and then the edges were filled in with P39 Car Filler and then sanded smooth, Well the front part anyhow.
I need to adjust one of the tall air intake pipes and one seemed to of moved and has set slightly off which is a balls but thems the breaks!

i havent opted in and its showing my location...
There coming for you!
38 minutes ago, DJ Dangerous said:It's a great idea from a community point of view, once people are careful to only enter their post-codes while opting in, not their actual addresses.
I see one or two members putting random addresses, presumably to try be funny, but that kind of defies the point.
If you don't wanna opt-in, no problem, but at least respect those who do.
Yeah can those be deleted as not point is having corrupts data in there.

I stuck my name on this but it actually gives the exact location of my gaf which TBH is not ideal, I thought it would be like a general location of my Village area.
Not sure if this is a good idea especially insurance wise if you are advertising where you live and stuff gets nicked?
I used my Work computer now to change the location and its in the Cork area so that will do.

Work in the dockyard continues with some massive step taken, all the wiring is complete internally for the lights in the hull , Superstructure, mice little Prewired LED were installed.
Also work on installing a Bright LED into the Search light and this was completed and tested as well as a Reed switch operated by the transmitter, its not latching so I used the off option with the on happening at the flick of a lever on the tranny. At the rear of the light Silver foil at the back was glued on to give a Mirror appearance.
And finally I plucked up the courage and decided to stick the deck on used copious amounts of wood glue so the next step will be to probably paint the hull and then to the Deck Armour plating. Flying along here!

Might do it or Perhaps johnsons clear but I doubt they have the strength to hold this kink down.

Well got it out and it stikes you as a lovely model. Stuck it on the track and the sweet sound of Jet Turbines was jheard. Nice a smooth runner.
Cab lights and all that Jazz, The Lower 2 Front lights should not come on for Forward Travel and should be red for reverse running, The Tender lights are red.
after a while I noticed.....The Footplate, How the hell am I gonna fix that little bump I dont fancy trying to shovel a bead of Super glue under the etch there TBH. Once Slip and the finish will be goosed. Tis on both sides.

As the Red Arrows say during their display Smoke on Go!
Step up 12 to 24V wizardry installed, Luckily I had a few spare as one or two have gone up in smoke. ran off a 12V battery it steps up the Voltage to run the smoke Generator which runs using water.
Need a tad more pipe though to run this up the funnel.

I can only presume the series was originally broadcast in Northern Ireland only, as I have never seen any of these programmes before now. For anyone else in mainland Britain who has not seen them, previous editions are on the BBC I-player. The subject matter is abandoned railway lines in Northern Ireland.
It was on the Beeb the other week, A nice program too.

Wonders will never cease!
I'll wait and see if Marks Models, or an Irish seller stocks it - I'm not buying off Hattons
Hattons do not seem to be the Flavour of the month, The new W1 causing much Consternation across the pond with Hornby Cancelling order.
Hope Marks have Squared my one away....

A few more hours spent today in joyful solitude in the shed with some CD's. Major surgery with a repositioning of the engine room vent pipes, Despite going off the plans the location measured was not correct and they had to be move up and over a tad. you can see the original position in the photos. Wheel house deck is now in place too. Hours spent with little to show!
The Ladders were also attached and the handrails soldered up to the main rails. All good fun!
after all that work decided to treat myself to a can.
