  1. If the couplings don't recentre then the Kaydees the uncoupling function wont work correctly. The coupling are a pain to change in those coaches. Not sure why companies where there designed so  you can pull them out quite easily for replacement and then another company comes along with a slightly different solution that jut does not quite get their.

piccy with the baccy coupling inserted and now  no droop. the droop was going under other stock when being propelled.

An almost daily feature of my childhood as I lived close to several of their bases. Hunters, Provosts and Lightnings too. To stand next to a Vulcan is quite an experience!

Duxford is perhaps THE place to go - how they squeezed the B52 into the American hall, let alone land it there is the first place was a real feat.

Nice to see an honest seller - title, description and lead photo all mention "Dicky". If only there were more sellers like this:

I don't get it , normally you are giving out about the price that some lads are asking for other bits and bobs and then ok with this one where the price is actually over double the original selling price? Honest though!

Still a good price for someone.

I've probably not run my A's long enough to see the failure George. I am interested to hear what it turns out to be though. Hopefully just a dry joint somewhere in the chain. Have you tried a different decoder first? The ESU stay alives are a three wire job I think so in theory the decoder could be gone bad as well. It's not a simple capacitor connected across the potential of the rails AFAIK. There's a bit more too it because big fat capacitors work as stay alives but they also swallow the ack pulses from the motor when programming so they have to be switched out of the circuit then. The three wire ones use some charging and discharging circuitry on the decoder and therefore don't need to be isolated during programming like simple caps do.

Good news is that got some help from FB, The CV value for 113  was 0, Strange as I had not done any programming on this at all. Anyway set it to 127 and it works again so happy days.

Alclad is the best metal paints I reckon;-

Alclad has really been Surpassed at this stage, AK Extreme Metal is more hard Wearing than Alclad which easily Rub off with handling.

  9. Cheers,

Came back out today and started her up and bingo the LED is shining brightly so nothing to do right now.

I wonder is the Vibration of the sound no helping poorly soldered joints, It does Vibrate a fair ol bit, I will turn the Vol down a wee bit.

Could be either the Socket or the LED soldering. 2 points.

If happens again I check it out further but I will leave alone for now.

    Cheers for the input!

  10.  I use Cobalt Digitals, Slow, First Batch I had was Duff, Manufacturing fault but they took them all back, (14 of them) and replaced the whole lot and no problems since.

I can control these from the DCC handset and are easy to program and have inbuilt  frog switching also which is great. I use them for the Fiddle yard too.

12 Cobalts are now 360 notes. Big Swallow for sure!
