Try @WRENNEIRE on this site. Pretty sure he has a few for sale or at least he did about a week ago.

Think I know which one you're talking about. Potentially a commission by either IRM or Adrian at some point in the future.
-
Love this. Surely a potential one for IRM to commission in the future?

What method was used to make the AOA models; transfers or something else?

IRM Hits the Road: We Commission Rail Link Buses!
iarnrod replied to Warbonnet's topic in Bus models
That's brilliant news. I suspect these will be sold out before they even arrive in stock. Hopefully, a positive sign for further Irish based vehicles/buses from IRM. -
Heljan already produce these tank wagons in 4mm scale. Same as the tanks used on ESSO North Wall-Sligo & (Oranmore) Claremorris oil trains. https://www.hattons.co.uk/203086/heljan_1154_4_wheel_a_tank_44290_in_esso_grey_with_1980s_hazchem_symbols_weathered/stockdetail.aspx The Class B wagons are the correct size for the Irish wagons if I remember correctly; the Class A wagons were longer in length so unprototypical for the Irish wagons. Previous IRM thread here :

The F5 function on a MM 201 sound chip is for the compressor. The manuals are available as downloads on the MM website. Dynamic braking is not a feature on either the 071 or 201 Class locos. As already eluded to in an earlier reply, the 201's did have a form of dynamic braking, but this was disabled shortly after they entered service.

Each to their own, I suppose. If you are happy with your Silver Fox purchases and they meet your needs, that's great. However, the concensus of many other modellers is that they are inaccurate. The cab shape on their A and C Class locos has the totally wrong profile. Their weedspray van gives a very general appearance when viewed from a distance of the real thing, but on closer inspection, doesn't really pass the accuracy test, and would appear rather insufficient alongside the highly detailed weedspray wagons that IRM have released.
-
It's probably best that the picture is fuzzy.
-
Maybe get people to put their money where their mouths is and set up a pay in advance order scheme for the van. If the required number of orders is not reached, then people either get their money back or can transfer the money to pay for another IRM item or items. Weedspray wagons look excellent, and is a very niche item also for the IRM guys to release.

This layout never ceases to amaze me. Simply stunning.

It was. Forgot about that one.

Loco no. 071 only ever released in black/silver livery by MM.
-
The MM 071 is an excellent model, but MM have none left in their warehouse, so its basically a case of checking what stockists have left in stock, ebay or the various model shows if you are after a particular model. The MM model accurately reflects the class until the end of 2015 detail wise, but would not be entirely protypical for the real locos in their current specification.
-
Apologies, misunderstood what you meant. Yes, MM only produced two IR liveried 071's.

CIE locomotive livery variations 1960-1990
iarnrod replied to jhb171achill's question in Questions & Answers
The livery on the MM 088 loco is probably far too light a shade of colour as the real 071's, when delivered, had a more brownish tint to their paint colour than the CIE tan used on everything else that was black and tan at that time. -
All 071 Class locos carried IR livery during the IR period and for a time in the IE period. The 073 model reflects the loco in the IR period. The main differences in it's current condition being the marker lights, removal of cab handrails and handbrake wheel.

CIE locomotive livery variations 1960-1990
iarnrod replied to jhb171achill's question in Questions & Answers
Don't confuse the model liveries with the real things. When the 071's were delivered, they were in a different shade to the Mk.2's, but when they were repainted at Inchicore, they then matched the current CIE liveried coaches and locos at that time. There has been much debate on here about the orange shade used on the MM Mk.2's being incorrect. The MM Mk.2's should match the livery shade on 086, but are more akin to the orange shade used on carriages and locos in IR and IE period. -
The top three items for anyone into the current scene has to be ICR's, current spec liveried 201's and current spec liveried 071's; none of which are readily available RTR at present, although IC liveried 201's were available previously, but at a time when there was possibly less Irish scene modellers than there are today, so a lot of modellers probably missed out on these. After that, you have the various DMU and EMU classes. We will have the weedspray wagons being released from IRM which certainly ran on the network until very recently.
-
There are rumours that MM might be producing some current liveried 201's after the 121's have all been released, but I suspect that IRM are more likely the ones to produce çurrent day locos, units and rolling stock in the future.
-
That is pretty much the whole list of what is available for the current scene. With the exception of the spoil wagons, all the rest are long sold out, so only available from either ebay or some of the model shows. The Bachmann autoballasters were not totally prototypical for the Irish ones, but a good likeness, in fairness. The MM 071 grey models are also not totally prototypical as they still have the cab handrails attached and the older type handbrake wheel. The black and silver 071's are only prototypical until the end of 2015 due to the older type handbrake wheel. A new run of the current liveried 201's and an updated 071 Class model would be very welcome. Majority of the flat wagons on the current liner trains are the 47' version, with only a small number of the 42' version used for this purpose. Hopefully, the next batch of IRM announcements might have something for the current scene in it.

That would have been the exception rather than normal by that stage. EGV's were normally the poor relations when it came to repaints as they were always needed in service.

I think that the only issue would be the carriage ends. The MM Supertrain Mk2's appear to depict the carriages as delivered with tan coloured ends and black strip, but by IR days when they started adding the white stripes, the carriage ends were painted black, similar to the MM IE Mk2's. I would suspect that this was due to that area being a known dirt trap, so the tan colour didn't stay tan for long in that area. From memory, the tan only extended to the edge of the doors at the ends of the carriages by IR period, with the section from door end to gangway connections painted black. The attached link of a train at Greystones by Albert Bridge illustrates this. https://www.geograph.ie/photo/3071995

Murphy's CIE Mk IId coaches - What's What
iarnrod replied to FrankS's question in Questions & Answers
Information on every Irish railway model ever commercially released is in the above thread, courtesy of Mr. Wrenneire of this parish. -
Excellent to see these released. On my shopping list. Any plans to do a re-run of the current liveried Tara's as per the first run? Also, a current spec grey livery 071 minus cab handrails and with electric handbrake would be nice, just saying . Maybe you should check out Flexi Fi as a payment option for Ireland. Would be similar to Paypal credit in the UK.
