  1. The CDRJC have their own album: Ernie Brack aka Irishswissernie
  2. Where were the Amonias serviced? I can't remember seeing any at Limerick Works so perhaps there was another agreement with the Leasors to maintain them at Marino Point or Shelton. I video'd a set at Mallow in May2000 with an additional tank tagged on behind the last barrier wagon so perhaps it had just been done. Ernie
  3. For a bit of individuality why not model an essential addition to the MU piping? ie a bit of rope as per this: 127+129 Limerick to Rosslare Harbour Oct 2000. Ernie
  4. I thought I had uploaded a couple of photos of Westport Quay a few years ago when I transfered everything on the demise old Fotopic site. Somehow Flickr at the time failed (or I cocked it up more likely!) to upload 7 images of Westport and Westport Quay. 2 links above. Ernie
  5. This was Douglas beach at 3pm on 2 August last year in the middle of the peak holiday period, it sure illustrates the collapse of the Island's holiday trade. Ernie
  6. I have uploaded a fair amount of Irish material to Flickr over the last couple of months. This is the collection link then click on an album Icon. https://www.flickr.com/photos/irishswissernie/collections/72157626625058875/'>https://www.flickr.com/photos/irishswissernie/collections/72157626625058875/ Alternatively you can click on the Archive photostream https://www.flickr.com/photos/irishswissernie/ and work your way back as I have added the views to the various Albums. Thanks to my good friend Dave Dunn of the Armstrong Railway Photographic Trust I have his permission to upload material from the ARPT Archive. The Trust mainly concerns itself with the GB railways but there is a fair amount of Archive Irish material in the collections as a fair number of the photographers visited Ireland. I have already added most of the Narrow Gauge views and am working through the 'standard' gauge material. Many of the captions have had to be amended as the information on the negatives was inaccurate or incomplete. I have added some to the 'Locations Unknown' Album as I have been unable to determine the location. Should any of the captions be wrong or you can identify any please put a note on the thread Ernie
  7. Thanks everyone; I knew there was another slide somewhere ; now attached. This one may be on the Ballybrophy to Limerick via Nenagh line Ernie
  8. Yes, I realise that now! The last Mark 1 Gen van I ordered through Modelfair actually came direct from Silver Fox some months later! Ernie
  9. I've just tried e-mailing them again. Back in June 2013 I ordered a Silver Fox 3 car push/pull set, they kept 10% deposit and said delivery was 6 to 8 months; its now 17 months later and I have had no reply to e-mail or phone calls. Ernie
  10. I'm pretty sure it is Newbridge. on further study I think the white rectangle is on the footbridge rather than the overbridge. The slide is very dark unfortunately. Ernie
  11. I think its possibly either Hazelhatch or Newbridge but the absence of a footbridge is a bit confusing. March 1999 Ernie
  12. I video'd this one as well , its a bit later than the 90's. The tractor had a bit of help from a 141 in getting the tank wagons (10 of them I think) started. Ernie
  13. AAARRRGGGHHH!!!!!!!! I checked that set as well! Thanks Ernie
  14. My Flickr site is perhaps a bit confusing to find what you are looking for as there are now 231 albums and 24674 photos spread over 8 collections. This is the Irish collection: https://www.flickr.com/photos/irishswissernie/collections/72157626625058875/ This should bring up the 24 Irish sets and then you just need to click on whichever set takes your fancy (if any do of course!) Ernie
  15. I have just acquired some of the IRISH Freight shop Guinness wagons which have the 2 varieties of containers. Now all my photos from my visits in 2000 to 2006 only show the triple stack variety actually in use on wagons apart from a couple at Dundalk in October 2000. Does anyone know if the double stack type was more commonly used in the 2000 to 2006 period and were the 2 types mixed on wagons. Thanks Ernie
  16. Alan has sent me a photo of the latest batch, just need the couplings attached and probably a bit more weathering! Ernie
  17. My son Alan produces 3D models, mainly of narrow gauge prototypes; however over the last few months he has been working on a 4mm scale 3D bubble body , to be used in conjunction with the Dapol Prestwin kit and the SSM detail etchings. The bubble is now available via his Shapeways site: http://brackmodels.weebly.com/cie-cement-bubble-in-4mmft-00.html I have the 3 test models and he says a further batch of 4 are now just about ready for me. ERnie
  18. I have had these locos sitting on my shelf for the last 10-12 years waiting for a layout which at my age just isn't going to materialise. They are built from North Star design kits (I think! its the kit now available from Des). Built professionally , Lurganboy is complete (although its lost its whistle somewhere) whilst the unnamed loco whilst painted needs 3 link couplings (set included). They are both in full working order and I tested them on my shunting layout today (need oiling!) 32mm gauge Prices are Sterling £500 for Lurganboy and £460 for the other. To include International Signed For postage to Eire from Haltwhistle. ERnie
  19. I have had this 7mm scale kit built (I'm not sure whose kit!) for several years. Its well built etched brass but un-motorised and it is also built to the correct 7mm/ Irish gauge ratio ie about 37mm. It accordingly needs a new chassis to be useable on O gauge track. This is beyond me and rather than just have it gathering dust it would perhaps be better to move it on. Selling price £105 which would include signed for postage to the Republic from here in Northumberland. I can take Paypal. Ernie
  20. This is a Consett Iron Company A Class Kitson built long boiler 0-6-0PT. There were a fair number in the class with one preserved. Here's a link to a couple at Derwenthaugh in later National Coal Board days. http://www.flickr.com/photos/irishswissernie/9089246539/in/set-72157627014288780
  21. There is a set of over 100 Claremorris views in 2003 & 2005 in my Irish Flickr Collection I particularly liked the use of the Ballina branch 071 class to shunt the Guinness wagons from the unloading siding to the headshunt, sometimes with the Cravens etc still attached. Shunting could get quite involved as bogie wagons had to be placed at the front of the set with the 4 wheelers at the rear. Ernie
