  1. True enough on the DCC front, however the coupling is a bit to get over, wouldnt cost Hornby much to update the model to have a NEM pocket and many more people would be encouraged to buy it. No trying to put anyone off it nor bash Marks Models mind you, great to see more irish models coming on stream.
  2. Looks to be the Railroads tooling. No NEM pocket or DCC socket on board either. Fair play to them for doing it but I think I'll be taking a miss on this one.
  3. Hi Wrenn, Appreciate that but I've managed to nab all the bits I've wanted, I'm waiting on two of the tanker packs now! Thanks for the offer though, much appreciated!
  4. Looking good Davenport, can't wait to see the first running!
  5. Personally speaking I have soldered droppers to ever piece of track I've laid so far on my main layout including points. Peace of mind and all that! Others may correct me, but I think one run of bus cable of each colour should do (less connections to worry about), this is a relatively smaller layout. As for the bus, again, open to correction, but I've read the best way to do it is follow the track underneath but don't complete the loop. In some cases this can cause issues with the signal on DCC layouts apparently. I've no firsthand experience with this issue so maybe someone can chime in and yay or nay me on that. There are more experienced and knowledgeable amongst us, so maybe wait for them to put in their advice too and see what the consensus is
  6. Same here, whenever I go to check now I get a bad gateway 502 error. I'm not sure what's going on
  7. Looks good! Though you may want to consider adding a way to get power onto each loop. From what I can see, you've only a single point of power on the outside loop which will leave the inner two lines and sidings without power Barring that, looks good! There's plenty there to keep you busy!
  8. Same for myself l, opens arrived this morning. Flats are unfulfilled. Just sent across an email
  9. Perhaps a court ordered few weeks unpaid labour to help rebuild? At least start to attempt to make ammends for all they destroyed
  10. Very sad to see. Condolences to his family and those who knew him best. A wealth of skill and knowledge lost. I met him at the Bray show a few times, very kind man with plenty of time (and patience) RIP
  11. It's coming along great! Delighted to see the progress!
  12. Shoot! Thankfully managed to grab some of these, H vans and Bulk grains. Wonder if Marks Models got any stock allocation? As a backup plan
  13. Are these, the flats and Builleid opens all sold out on Preorder? Was hoping to nab a pack of flats and a couple of corrugated opens
  14. Hi Gabhal! The whole process of watching the shed has been brilliant! Can't wait to see how the layout progresses! But as a quick aside, the layout looks maybe a bit limited by the headshunt lengths and overall dimensions for operations, have you considered an "inspired by" rather than a "Based on" layout? Just my €0.02, I looked at your plans and done a quick sketch to aid operations (in my unlearned and green opinion). But wither way I can't wait to see how this all progresses! And by all means ignore this if you want as accurate to real life as you can get, happy modelling!
  15. Looks like a great plan! Loads of operational fun there! Only thing I might say is accessing the timber siding might be a faff, especially if you're looking to run around an outbound load. Assuming you're going to have the IRM Flats carrying the timber. I could be wrong there mind you if the straight between the two points can hold two flats! That's only minor though, main thing is, you're happy and it looks great!
  16. A Class 66 in Black'n'tan? An A class in An Garda livery? (A la class 37 in police livery) A 22000 in Arrow livery? This will be interesting to watch
  17. Is it safe to say Bangor was a bust for a IRM steam announcement? Or are they holding out for a Sunday surprise?
  18. This isn't fair, you're much better at puns than me, I'm starting to feel a bit Bulleid. I'm only gonna be a Shell of my former self after this
  19. Don't start with these pun based shenanigans again! Just say Tanks and move along
  20. Amazing! I've just finished up plans for a fuel area for my layout yesterday evening. Great stuff lads! On a side note, is there only going to be one pack of running numbers? Thought you might do the usual 2-3 packs of different liveries (Wallet might not complain though)
  21. I'd take three or 4 broken wheel
  22. With the poor weather about, figured it was worth finishing up on my bridge build, Wanted it to represent an older branchline bridge with a more modern girder bridge to allow for the mainline constructed after the original branch. I don't think it turned out too badly consider I'm relatively new to scratch building. Painting up next and I'll wait till its in position to add the road surface so there's no visible gaps in the scenery
  23. Preordered a set of 4, should look the bee knees alongside Mk2s, Cravens, 4 wheelers and generic irish-ified coaches in a mixed rake behind an A class! Well done lads!
  24. 7 wagons ready for the paintshop! More of Leslie's wonderful wagons and bar some user error and complete cockup of a kit, some lovely kits to build! Just 4 more cattle vans to be assembled and my kit backlog will be cleared! Thanks, Dane
  25. Thank you very kindly!
