Only pullin yer leg1 Call me a philistine, but for ride comfort I'd prefer the ICRs to the Cork sets.

You have all summer to boast about the blue moon rising again Kirley. My old man is a blue, and I'm truly delighted for him that they won it this year.

Warbonnet replied to Admin's topic in Irish Models
Popped in to Marks on Hawkins Street this evening to pick up the new BR Bachmann Class85 electric and took some pics of the preproduction 071 and autoballasters. -
I think Tony owes me a pint! And that chicken nugget head McLeish wont get the job, my rifle will make sure of that!

I'll have a gander online. I don't think I'm the only one who would like them either. Plan to carry out such surgery to my yank stuff too in due course. I just wish Smokey Valley checked their emails once in a while!

We'll see. I didn't take it lightly, and it's from a source from my working days (i.e, not some spotty teenager that likes to play funny games on twitter) As for Suarezgate, I don't think there is any point in bringing it up yet again. But Patrick is right in his correction. It was Evra himself who stated that he did not believe Suarez was racist in his testimony. Lets hope we do not see such sad incidents again.

Unconfirmed reports that Kenny has been dethroned. Will confirm when I hear more.

Any chance of SSM doing some brass handrail stanchions ala smokey valley in the US Westy? I have 9 141s and an expected half dozen 071s and god knows how many murphys 121s that need upgrading...

All my Irish stock (brand new/mint) for sale !!!
Warbonnet replied to 59004's topic in For Sale or Wanted
Reasons were offered in their replies on why they thought the prices were too high. It was no more than friendly advice and at the end of the day it is up to the vendor to either take the advice or stick to his asking prices. -
Manchester Piccadilly Station

I would say both, but the Dildos aren't as bad as the Voyagers. Travelled London to Birmingham on a Voyager (weekend diversion via Chiltern Line) for Warley a few years back. They were noisy, smelly (the smell from the jacks wafted through the whole coach) and very claustrophobic. On top of that I'm not sure who designed the seats, but there's no way they have a normal spine. Our ICRs for example are superior in every way. I went from London to Glasgow and back on the Pendo and booked a window seat in advance. When I got on there was no window, just a wall. They're a bit bumpy but at least the seats were decent. Impressive machines though, very fast accelerating off the mark. -

That's a cross country voyager, they also come in Virgin livery ala the Pendodildos. Absolutely horrible trains to travel on, speaking from first hand experience. -

Very nice Dave, 071s and Mark IIIs was the ultimate combination for train travel in this country for me. The Cork coaches that replaced the Mark IIIs are shocking in comparison. Hard seats, awful ride, small windows. We didn't know how good we had it! -
I thought the video was done in China until I saw the H&W on the crane!

Especially when he's naturally a striker and and played there for Bohs fairly successfully. A mad day, but what a day. My old man is a city supporter and he was resigned to defeat with 20 minutes to go. City just didn't look like scoring, and losing Toure in the 1st half was a big blow. But typical City, they had a surprise up their sleeve. Great finish by Aguero, quality always shines through in the end and his touch and finish was superb. As a Liverpool fan I'm most delighted that the season is over. Still, at least we won something this year, unlike some Terrible season though, Champions League is where it's at, and if Liverpool want to but up a side again, they badly need to get back in it to attract better players etc. Sadly Kenny is not the man for that job. Anyway, roll on the Euros. We'll have to set up a thread to see if there's any interest in forming a IRM fantasy football league for next season. I finished an almost respectable 5th in the WNXX forum league this year.

Looking for advice on valuing and selling old Hornby layout
Warbonnet replied to homer911's topic in For Sale or Wanted
Hi and welcome to the site! You could stick a list up of what you want to sell on here, and a few pics. You might even get a few offers! -
Pffff, Scotsman is such a hussey of a preserved loco, always grabbing the limelight compared to other engines. There are much nicer A3's out there with more attractive names. Anyway, here's mine! Must do a support coach along with one for Tornado, both add something different when running modern stock. I might be a bit of a philistine but I like A3s most of all with GNR coalrail tender, BR green late crest and smoke deflectors, ala Galtee More Scotsman's corridor tender and GNR tender And another shot of City of Lancaster. They're really nice models, but I must replace the front bogie with a more realistic aftermarket product. The Hornby one looks pretty poor.

Pond life strikes again. Folk who enjoy chariot races on the public highway have been linked with such thefts from numerous British preserved and mainline companies. Luckily they didn't have the copper out of the diesels, some locos in the UK have gone to scrapheap after such harvesting. Some others have tried to have the copper cabling off the overhead catenery too, often with 'shocking' consequences...
