    He has plenty of personalities to keep him company over there for a while! Absolutely superb work David, you can be proud of the way they're shaping up. I think I'll have to stretch the funds for some of these.

    The RPSI ran the 'Spare Link' railtour last month from Dublin to Wexford and back which took in the Howth branch on the Sunday. This saw steam return to the branch for the first time in many years and a 201 class diesel making a rare appearance on the line. Here's a photo of 217 at Sutton Station on the RPSI rake of cravens. You can see 461 in the background reversing back to Connolly. And a video of both 461 and 217 in action... Enjoy!

    It is, I'm all for wheelchair access etc but they could at least make the new structures look a bit better and allow them to match their surroundings!

    There is of course the permanent way depot in Kildare, which played host to a few track machines and on track plant while I was there. I think this is the newish MPV which will replace the weedspraying train? Sorry it's only a glimpse, more information would be great! While I was there I captured the more interesting stuff on video. Cue on track plant, liners and 201s on Dublin Cork services. Might make another trip next week to get the additional liners and hopefully some 071s working hard.

    I spent a morning in Kildare station a couple of weeks ago where a hideous new bridge is under construction. I took some pics of the ICRs while there. They might not be everyone's cup of tea (mine included!) but they are the future. Here's some pics which might be of use to some! Classic period postbox

    Ha! The way I look at it is if I buy one loco, I need to buy at least one more to run in pairs, then a load of freight cars to go behind it. I am already staring at present day UP, NS, BNSF,80's Santa Fe and 60's SP on the shelf next to me. And then there's the British stuff!

    Slightly, but would be drawn to the GG1s first. I have enough trouble focusing as it is, 1970s bankrupt electrics would be another deviation I just cannot afford!

    It's nice, but will never carry it as well as the E-Units did! I believe Penn Central has been added to the list. Can't wait for the New York Central one myself.

    Nice one Patrick, are they all Jouef models? I must admit that I know next to nothing about French outline, although I have enjoyed some jaunts throughout France by train over the years. I do have an interest in all things TEE however, and do love locos like the CC 40100s. These were downright beautiful http://www.bzt87.com/9004/index.htm These sound and look awesome Have you got any LS models stuff Patrick? Heard that they do nice stuff, but a tad pricey.

    Apart from being old Tyco/Manuta, not much Dave. Guessing it's from the mid 90s judging by the matchbox branding? I fell out of love with matchbox when they started making fantasy cars in garish colours instead of replications of real cars. I was a sad child! The tyco/matchbox fraternity don't even seem to know much about it http://www.tycoforums.com/tyco/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=10217 I'm sure a matchbox collector would love to get his paws on it!

    Once travelled from Prague to Krakow by train, lovely scenery along the trip, and some of the Czech diesels sound awesome. Nice video here [video=youtube;ZymsftmDf-Q]

    IR, NIR and IE will be my focus, with a Freight one and a Supertrains one for completeness. I don't know who I'm trying to kid, I'm going to end up with as many as I can afford!

    Good man Anthony, I do like them with the IR logo, that's when they started to look really rundown and filthy!

    Very true, but on the other hand the market is huge for the American stuff. I guess it's economies of scale. Still, it would be nice to be able to buy some Irish wagons (forthcoming autoballasters aside!)

    When they come in 5 packs for around 70 squids it's hard to resist! I just need to get some funds together again to stock up. Oh and somewhere to put them all! God help me when it comes to weathering them!
