  6. Looks like I'm the only one here who wasn't educated in the dark ages. Instead they just taught is Irish; an equally useless, outdated language.

  10. Are we 100% sure it's not John Major enjoying his retirement?
  11. They did Seamus, here's some background and pics of the internationals in BR days http://www.traintesting.com/International_train.htm
  12. Rich, it depends really on what I'm getting. If it's a loco, I can usually get it cheaper in the states, including shipping and in the case of sound fitted, cheaper than the UK despite the risk of customs and P&P. I usually use http://www.modeltrainstuff.com or http://www.trainworld.com for the states. There is a good shop in the UK called Model Junction http://www.modeljunction.info and I buy a lot of freight cars etc from there. I have bought some locos there too, for instance they have a good sale on non sound Atlas locos at the moment, and I've snapped up a few. They even test them before posting them out and give you a guarantee saying so. Postage can be a bit pricey though, but great service and website. The signal box http://www.thesignalbox.co.uk also carries some yank stuff, and I've bought some rolling stock from them too.
  13. Original Norfolk Southern, released this morning http://www.railpictures.net/viewphoto.php?id=396143
  14. Good thinking, will do!
  15. On the hunt for a couple of Bachmann Class 20 chassis for a decent price Dave if you come across any cheap...
  16. You would have to either use your own picture or find someone else's and ask for their permission to use it as you could end up in breach of copyright. Check out flickr or other similar sites as they have plenty of pics and you can message the picture owners directly.

Excellent news, now to source a donor!

    SSM Sulzer 101

A 20 wouldn't Eamon, but a 24 or a 25 might be as they had similarly sized Sulzer engines. Des, is it still your intention to make the kit easily adaptable for Athearn SD9 running gear as well as the Hornby Deltic?
  19. Lots of photos on their own website http://www.a1steam.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=section&id=8&Itemid=170
  20. A quick video demonstrating the factory fitted tsunami sound in these beasts!
  21. I took a trip to the midlands over the weekend to check out the latest progress A4Mallard has made on his layout. I took along a Heljan Class 23 Baby Deltic to stretch its legs a little and took a video of it undergoing a haulage test of 60 Bachmann Presflo cement wagons. It climbed the six(!) levels of the layout with ease which is pretty impressive stuff from a small loco. It is silky smooth too, and I would have to thoroughly recommend them. Anyway, enjoy the video! [video=youtube;-ukzZWsCNMc]
  22. Yep, the Gevo's are being delivered to NS in primer and they paint them up themselves. The ACe's will be painted by the manufacturer when they're completed and delivered directly.

  25. Don't look at me! Looks like another recruit to the dark side Dave, didn't think converting you lot would be so easy!
