Thanks for the offer Seamus, but tieing up and gagging other men is not how I get my kicks!
-
No idea yet, but can stick around till 8 I suppose, or whenever they decide to kick me out!
-
Seamus if you use Google Chrome instead of Internet Explorer to browse the internet it has a spell checker and a translator service built in. Very handy. Anyway, worth a look https://www.google.com/chrome/?installdataindex=nosearch&hl=en-GB&brand=CHMB&utm_campaign=en-GB&utm_source=en-GB-ha-emea-ie-sk&utm_medium=ha

Cheers lads. Seamus, was on to himself last night. Probably going to take a trip down on Monday if you're about? Will bring her down for a run and you can have a good look!

Good one John, I must admit I like the yellow and green livery of the MKT, I'm not sure where UP got the red from, but it really looks good to me. Nothing wrong with a little experimenting with dark forces! Me too mate, even down to the way 'The Katy' is splashed across the side! I'll have to bring the two of them down to Brendan, stand them side by side and see what you think!

http://www.modeltrainstuff.com http://www.trainworld.com Both US, if you go for the non sound version you shouldn't get stung by customs (this has sound and I did get stung!) http://www.modeljunction.info - UK retailer, but they probably wont have them in for about another 6 weeks if you can wait. Really good service though.

Some more pics of my B114. I've chipped it and now just need to add the additional bogie detail. They really are top notch.

The latest Genesis SD70ACe arrived in D22 t'other day, UP1988 'Miss Katy' in one of the Union Pacific heritage repaints. Must say it's my favourite so far. Anyway, some pics...

Pete Waterman's O gauge layout on YouTube
Warbonnet replied to Warbonnet's topic in British Outline Modelling
I don't think I could sleep soundly at night if I inflicted such horrors on the world. I'm too soft I guess! -
Have you carried out any extra detailing on yours yet Rich? Would be interested to see what you did and parts you used to see what I can do to my ones.
-
I'm guessing that many people are aware of Pete Waterman's superb O gauge layout from numerous magazine articles in recent years. Here is a nice (and rather long) video of it in action. Be sure to check out the guy's channel for more videos of the layout and British mainline steam. Enjoy!

Now that brings back memories! Very nice. You need to adapt it for the faller road system and put a sound chip in!

Best glue/adhesive for building models ?
Warbonnet replied to aramand's question in Questions & Answers
Something else worth doing is try a dry run of fitting parts together without glue to make sure they fit together nicely and do not need modification without glue being in the equation. It only gets messy otherwise! Also, it will help you to work out if some parts need painting before gluing together. And if you make a mess of it the first time, don't be disheartened. I bet everyone on here has made a mess when starting out making kits. You can learn a whole lot from making a mistake. The Dapol kits are perfect to begin with and are enjoyable to make up. Enjoy it! -
Jaysus talk about inflation. I got it on there last night for less than £20!
-
Thanks Eamon, know anywhere good where I could pick these up?
-
Picked up the book yesterday, cracking piece of work! Is there a similar book about the Dublin area during a similar time period? When it comes to Irish railway books I've lived a very sheltered life...

Saying goodbye to the Atlas Forum...
Warbonnet replied to Warbonnet's topic in US / Canadian Railway Modelling
Yes very odd, mind you there were a lot of people causing bother on the forums in recent months (sound familiar?) so they probably got sick and tired babysitting it. I don't really mind once it's not a sign that they're on the way out of business all together, as they really make sweet stuff. I'm sure it isn't though! -
Thanks for that Tony.

We're not paid to correct poor grammar and/or poor jokes. In fact, we're not paid at all!

Nice one Anthony. I'm pretty sure I read somewhere before that RH175 was the last decker chassis completed by Leyland so it's a pretty important bus historically too.

It was announced earlier this week that the long running Atlas train forums are to close on May 1st. It has been a great resource for myself as I got interested in yank stuff down through the years despite the amount of hot air that comes out of the place every once in a while and something I'll miss a lot when it's gone. One particular tradition that'll I'll miss the the Sunday Photo Fun tread which was an institution in itself. Each week members would put up a photo of anything they wanted such as a model they were working on, or completed, or a picture or two from their layout. The last thread in this tradition is well under way. Well worth a look for inspiration and ideas, even if you aren't into the yank stuff. Some amazing modelling to be seen from all over the world. http://forum.atlasrr.com/

Not something you'd see every day!
Warbonnet replied to BosKonay's topic in US / Canadian Railway Modelling
Some decent power on it too! CM Concepts offer the bits needed to model it in HO scale. http://www.con-sys.com/aircraft_parts.htm Would love to do one myself someday but I bet getting them around the curves would be a nightmare! A bit of background on why they are transported by rail http://www.b737.org.uk/production.htm Another impressive load is the wind turbine components
