  1. Hi everyone, A customer has very kindly sent us some pics of RV520 on his layout to share with you! I've also seen that they've shown up on Tara Junction. Be great to see your pics of them on your layouts or cabients! Not many left! Cheers! Fran
  2. They look right at home Noel, thanks once again for the order and support!
  3. Hi everyone, The buses have started arriving with customers today (including our out of office outposts, such as my kitchen table above!) and will continue to be shipped out over the coming days (we have a bit of a backlog with 121s, weedsprayers and these landing all at the same time nearly!) These have been very successful indeed, with only 25% of the production run left in stock. Thank you to everyone who supported this project with orders. It is encouraging to say the least and we may well look at other road vehicle projects in the future! Tempted? Order yours here: https://irishrailwaymodels.com/collections/vehicles Cheers! Fran
  4. As Stephen said, there would be no IRM without Paddy. He was a true pioneer of the hobby here and revolutionised it. He took the chance on RTR Irish models and it paid off, and his bravery has given me a day job! I have also been dealing with Paddy on the retail side for IRM with the 121s and the rest of the MM range and he is a pleasure to work with. The 121 is a fabulous model and I think there will be more great models to come too.
  5. The Olympians started with the RHs (Leyland) in 1990 and finished with the RVs (Volvo), the last of which were delivered in 1999. The last Olympian finished in service with Dublin bus in December 2012. There’s a bit of history on them here https://www.classicbuses.co.uk/+Dublin-Bus.html The two tone green started with the KD Bombardier buses in the early 80s. Was modified with orange stripe and Dublin Bus branding in 1987 (as part of CIE forming Dublin Bus, Bus Eireann and IR). I’m not sure exactly when the last green bus bowed out but suspect it was late 2000, early 2001?
  6. We find factory weathering broadly poor and it detracts from the model for us, so we dont do it. Lots of talented guys out there that will take on the weathering jobs as a commission though to do it for you!
  7. I think they look quite good, better than some of the American outline diesels which is high praise indeed. If they are that bothersome modellers can always replace them with brass wire.
  8. Well, we do have previous! https://accurascale.co.uk/collections/24-5t-huo-coal-hopper-o-gauge
  9. Hi everyone, Our dispatching of the RPSI limited edition B134 is now under way, along with B121 and B135! We have a limited amount of B134 and B135 remaining in stock, so make sure you grab them quick! Remember; sales of B134 are going to a very good cause to assist the RPSI during a difficult time of a lack of railtours, so support them if you can and get a lovely model as a bonus! Order here: https://irishrailwaymodels.com/collections/murphy-models-class-121-locomotive Cheers! Fran

  13. Soz Dave, letter in the post! Lives in Dover though and responsible for a good few models in malachite green. Can't get any less North East than that!
  14. Hi everyone, Just a bit of industry news from us as we welcome a new project manager, Paul Isles, to our team! Accurascale Welcomes Paul Isles On Board as Project Manger We are delighted to announce that Paul Isles has joined our team as Project Manager. Paul joins the Accurascale team later this month as the company continues to expand its operations and push to release exciting ready-to-run models and accessories in OO and O gauge. Having spent a number of years with Hornby, modellers will be familiar with Paul’s work. With a successful track record of highly regarded models spanning a multitude of eras including steam, diesel and electric as well as coaches, wagons, road vehicles and more, Paul brings a wide range of expertise to our team. As well as his project research of a fine array of models, Paul is also synonymous with the well known “Engine Shed” blog and the design of several Hornby catalogues. Along with model railway knowledge, Paul also has experience of the real railway, having worked in the railfreight industry in BR days. Speaking on the announcement Paul outlined his enthusiasm over his new role; “I am hugely excited at the opportunities that lie ahead for us as at Accurascale and to the challenges that will come our way as we seek to introduce new, high fidelity models to the UK railway modelling market, across a range of gauges.” “It is Accurascale’s reputation for their attention to detail that excites me as a Project Manager; to have extensive and exhaustive research translated into a feature rich scale model is a massive inspiration for any research professional and I have very high hopes for the models that we currently have in development, as well as future projects in the pipeline.” Stephen McCarron, Managing Director of Accurascale added; “We’re thrilled to welcome Paul to our growing team at Accurascale. He brings a wealth of experience and industry knowledge with him and shares our desire to produce highly detailed definitive models without equal. With our exciting roadmap over the coming years he adds a dynamic new element to our skill set.” Watch out for new models with Paul’s stamp of them coming soon from Accurascale!
  15. Yes, 20s and 47s still working day to day, mainly on stock movements. The 37s also work on stock movements, test trains, engineering trains etc. There is still one class 31 mainline registered and working too!
  16. We'll see how the rest of these sell, but we have some big and interesting ideas ahead!
  17. Two different suppliers.
  18. I believe they're not far away either, but worth asking Murphy Models!

  24. Were you willing to pack all the orders and offer the space, Martin? Fair play, going above and beyond for the RPSI. Locked ONCE AGAIN due to people taking the joy out of the MM and RPSI 121.
  25. It doesnt mean they wont be offered in a new run again though. The toolings exists, so "we have the technology" as they say!
