IRM will be at all 4 shows
-
That's a beauty Steven! Complete with pan too! I have three sets of them somewhere I was going to saw up one day to make a prototypical train (just needed another two sets) think I can abandon that idea now!
-
HUSH HUSH is a winner for me, as is the Coronation stock. Can see myself looking at an APT too and well, the Rocket? The force is strangely strong with that one. Overall, the best Hornby line up in years. Fair play to them.

@WRENNEIRE will have the skinny on this.

Thanks everyone, we seem to be in a fair few categories this year which we are most proud of! We appreciate the votes!

A 121 operated the Bray - Greystones shuttle after the Cs were withdrawn and before the NIR 80 class was drafted in to operate it.

Hi Noel, Your continued custom with IRM is much appreciated. Thanks, Fran

Hi Noel, It is per our conversation at the Dublin show in October 2019. I’m not sure why you’re referencing previous posts on this thread which are well over a year old when you were given an update in person in October 2019? Thanks, Fran P.S -for the record, it was NEVER stated that the Guinness keg wagons would be appearing in January 2020.
-
Hi Rich, Absolutely. The forum is first to know when there is an update around timelines, developments etc. One thing we have been very good at is telling everyone what is going on (we’ve even had flak from people for ‘going on and on about it too much’) so everyone should go off previous updates, and if there is changes or developments we will inform.
-
Look out for some news from us on gypsum wagons in 2020....
-
Hi Noel, I do not have any news to add to previous updates as our office is closed until January 6th. It is envisaged that all As will indeed arrive together. Thanks, Fran

CIE Laminate Coaches - Worsley Works - ECMbuild in 4mm
Warbonnet replied to murrayec's topic in Irish Models
Best model of a laminate coach I ever seen. Fantastic work, Eoin! -
It’s best you email us as per above as it will be dealt with quicker. We are all on a Christmas break after all and only periodically checking in. Thanks, Fran

Hi there, It’s alwaya worth contacting us direct via email if you are wondering about the postal status of an order. https://irishrailwaymodels.com/pages/contact Kind regards, Fran
-
Hi Noel, Of course, it is your statutory rights too. We will be able to receive returns when we reopen from January 6th. We ask any customer who wishes to do this to email us first so we can make arrangements. However, our pointers posted will solve 99% of these issues. Many thanks, Fran

Hi everyone, We are of course aware that there has been an issue with stiff axles with some of our new 42ft liner wagons. We are as disappointed with this news as you are, and have communicated this displeasure to China. The bogies used on the flats is the exact same tooling as the Tara mines wagon, and it performed very well under those wagons as well as under any flat sample we have received in the run up to the liner release. A full postmortem is going on to find out why this issue has affected some wagons in the liner release. We have also instructed China that this cannot happen on subsequent deliveries of wagons and have been assured that the matter will be dealt with and will not affect the ferts, guinness kegs, weedsprayer and spoils. In the meantime, Richie has taken time out to do up a quick guide on how to remedy the issue at home if you so desire. We fully agree that you SHOULD NOT HAVE TO DO THIS on a new model. But, if you want to have a go, there are some nice and very easy steps here. https://irishrailwaymodels.com/blogs/announcements/improving-the-running-of-the-42ft-flat-wagon We also recommend running in each set for a period of 15-20 mins each, and building up your rake as they are broken in. Again, we know, you should not have to, but it will help with the issue. If you do not feel confident in tackling, email us. support@irishrailwaymodels.com Cheers, Fran (on behalf of Team IRM)

On behalf of the IRM team I would like to wish you all a very merry Christmas and a happy new year! Thank you for all your support of IRM and Accurascale in 2019 and brace yourselves for a very exciting 2020! I wonder how many of you were like this around the Christmas tree this morning??? Have fun! Fran

Not a huge amount but we are looking at ways to sort. We will get some instructions sorted for them in the new year. Luckily they're a separate part so can be rectified.

Hi everyone, It’s absolutely fantastic to see these wagons in action and on such great layouts. Thank you for posting them and keep them coming. However, we are aware that there has been a couple of issues too. We have been in touch with the factory to discuss our unhappiness about the tightness of wheels on the bogies (a characteristic none of the Tara’s or 42 samples had at all, and the flats have exactly the same bogie, same tooling etc.) and the droopy buffer issue with these wagons. With a bit of oiling and some running in, the tightness of the wheels is cured, but we are instructing the factory to ensure that this is not necessary on any further 42ft wagons going forward and that they perform as they should. This affects some, but not all wagons, but once sorted they perform as you would expect. We have also asked the factory to ensure that the buffer beam fitting is corrected too and that the ferts, spoils, Guinness kegs and weedspray do not have these issues. If anyone is having issues and cannot resolve them then please contact us via email support@irishrailwaymodels.com and we will help you out. We know this is not ideal and shouldn’t be necessary but we are determined to solve the issue for you should you have one. Cheers, Fran (on behalf of the IRM crew)

Hi Noel, Yes, we are due a bunch of these from China in the new year, keep an eye out for that! Nice! We really need a model of a Hino HE or a CIE Bedford TM if you ask me! Cheers! Fran
-
Thanks Noel. The A's are still on course for late March, with the factory completing our tweaks as we speak. We're hoping for some decorated samples very soon and once we have them we will show them here and in all the usual places. Cheers! Fran

Honestly? We really should've made more. We're a bit gutted that we didnt as we have a lot of people contacting us still. It's encouraging that the market has grown, and we will be doing bigger production runs from now on, but what used to last almost 12 months stock wise, now lasts a week! We wanted to make more of the liners when we saw demand spike a couple of months back, but we were governed by the Bell and B&I containers we ordered as they were already made at that stage, so we had to stick to the production quantity we originally asked for. Still, we will absolutely make another run of liner flats in the future. The question is; same container liveries or new liveries? Hmmmm..... Rest of the 42 comes first though. And ballasts run 2, and A..... All 42ft flat orders have been sent out. Please note that they take a few days to land as they're coming from the UK, and bare in mind the time of year too, so they may take a couple of extra days. It was also a mammoth amount of orders that needed packing too! We have noticed that some of the wheels can be a little stiffer than usual. We recommend HL657 Hob-e-lube around the axle box and hub and some running in will see them free up. WD40 has also worked/ Thank you to everyone who has ordered them and your patience for waiting for them, we hope they were worth the wait! The Ferts will be here in late January all going well, so something else to look forward to in the new year! Cheers! Fran

There’s a reason why we went with CRail compatibility for our flats; they’re the best out there. Nicely detailed, well researched, excellent design and fidelity and they also offer a great range. They really set the wagons off a treat.

Love the mix of containers in this one Gareth!
