  1. Cement wagon primed and painted. There was enough chain to finish the model - phew. Cheers Darius
  2. Dunweatherin… Drop side wagon assembled. Cheers Darius
  3. Next project:- MIR drop side cement pallet wagon - first of six. A very nice kit with everything you need including wheels, brass bearings and some very fine chain. Cheers Darius PS I have kept these kits wrapped up in the box since Ian sent them to me several years ago. On unpacking them yesterday I found that Ian had enclosed a cash refund for the combined postage saving. So a belated thank-you to Ian for the refund.
  4. …and painted. It’s a green “Brown Van”. Painted UTA green - not sure if this is prototypically correct but it makes a change from brown “Brown Vans”. it will get browner after a spot of weathering. Cheers Darius
  5. They are on my radar. I have asked Allen at Worsley Works to etch some sides for me but there may be a bit of a wait before that happens. Cheers Darius
  6. Brown Van assembly completed. Ready for priming and painting. Cheers Darius

  12. Ammonia tanker completed - bar etched tie downs, which are on their way from Wizard Models. Cheers Darius
  13. I have had this Irish Freight Models anhydrous ammonia tanker on the shelf for quite a few years after obtaining it in completed condition from the Bay of e. Over time the decals started to peel and it looked in a very sorry state. Today I decided to improve things so the remaining decals were scrubbed off and extra undergibbon parts were added using brass rod and plasticard. The tank and chassis have now been repainted. The original handwheels have been removed and will be replaced with etched examples. The lines on the tank were drawn on using a 2H pencil and a guide made from three layers of Tamiya masking tape. A new decal sheet has been obtained from MIR - still available on eBay. Cheers Darius
  14. Built from the Model Irish Railways resin kits. Somewhere in a box I have a few more of these kits but with the big wheels and chains on the ends. Cheers Darius
  15. Built from the Cambrian C55 SR Bogie hopper kits. Cheers Darius
  16. Another Provincial Wagons “Brown Van” kit on the bench this evening. Cheers Darius
  17. I have to admit that this is what I thought of when I first read the title of this post. Cheers Darius
  18. UTA spoil wagons and Brown Van built from the Provincial Wagons kits. Cheers Darius
  19. Built using Worsley Works etched sides on Dapol donor coaches. Cheers Darius
  20. Built using the refurbished Silver Fox resin kit. I replaced the kit CCTV cameras with scratch built examples using plasticard and staple mounts. Cheers Darius
  21. Built using Lima and Dapol donor coaches and Model Irish Railways (80 Class) and Worsley works (the other three) etched brass sides. Cheers Darius
  22. For my second post here are some Provincial Wagons container flat wagons with modified and repainted C-Rail containers. The CIE container is the one piece resin item provided with the Provincial Wagons kits. My father, who worked for Michelin, was posted to Belfast in 1978 and I went to school there from 1978 to 1983. I have been fascinated by the railways of Northern Ireland and Eire ever since. Cheers Darius For the left over containers I built an NIR bogie container flat using a spare Ian Kirk kit coach chassis, some Triang bogies and bits of plasticard. Cheers Darius
  23. Hello. First post here on Irish Railway Modeller but I’ve posted a few times on the Irish Railways Group on RMWeb over the past few years. I built a CAF3000 unit using the CMAC bodies earlier this year. Cheers Darius
