  1. Unusual capture, well done.
  2. I just want a few Lorries/ Trailers for my Container Yard and was really disappointed at the lack of suitable RTR vehicles. Then I remembered some Tesco lorries I bought a long time ago so I took one out to have a look. This is one with the back removed and a 30' container placed on to see the effect. I know it's away under scale but in a yard away from 'proper scale' lorries I might get away with it. Any other suggestions most welcome.
  3. Trying out locations for Tanks and Fuelling Points before final assembly and painting.
  4. Concentration on the Oil Depot and Fuelling Point which involved a lot of kit building all from Knightwing Kits. Made up my own Fuelling Depot with a corporate colour that looked right to me but not I'm sure representing anything on Irish Rail. Oil Tanks and Portacabin constructed and painted. Curved wall made out of plywood and covered in DAS Clay and then Wills Stone sheet pressed into it to give a stone wall impression. Inside of the wall ready of the DAS Clay treatment. Container Crane finally completed. Walls and internal walls. Internal walls glued in place and coping top on all the walls finished the wall building. Sorry about the picture quality but the light was fading badly at this stage.
  5. Beautiful!
  6. Thanks Guys for the replies. I should have been more specific, looking for a Container lorry 80' -90's vintage. I did not know there were kits to build trailers and it looks the part alright but I was hoping there would be something off the shelf to suit this period -really surprised there's not.
  7. Thanks but it is a container lorry I'm after.
  8. Lorries for 40' & 45' Containers - any suggestions please?
  9. A lot of work done since the last update but it does not look it. I painted the concrete areas with Woodcraft concrete paint but it looks very light to me, still thinking what to do with it. The Woodcraft Tarmac colour is excellent. I filled in all the spaces between the tracks with spare bits of plywood, it's like making your own jigsaw. Starting to ballast the tracks, I spray alcohol onto the ballast before applying the PVA + water mix and can only do a bit at a time because of the fumes. The centre area is very fine ballast put down on top of a spread of PVA mix. Finishing off kits for a Fuelling Point, Oil Tanks and the Container Crane.
  10. Tidy job.
  11. Coming together well Tom.
  12. Rare indeed to see coloured pictures of GNR coaches, nice find.
  13. Excellent video both of A39 and the layout. Plenty to hold the viewers attention, I'm sure it must have been a great evening.
  14. Thank Railer for your detailed reply, mystery solved.
  15. Love that Enterprise Set, especially the Grill Bar coach roof detail
  16. Over the past years while passing York Road Depot I noticed movements of the De Dietrich Coaches were carried out with a Flat Wagon between the Loco and the Coach. Now a Gatwick Coach is used for this purpose. My question is what is the need for a Wagon/Coach to be used as a barrier between the Loco and the De Dietrich Coaches?
  17. Well done Bart, that finish looks really good. I can share with you the joys of getting the filler down right before it hardens. Looking forward to seeing progress on this part of your excellent layout.
  18. Looking forward to seeing the video of both A39 and your layout Noel.
  19. After all your detailed planning I'm sure it is a great feeling to have some track down and training running. As regard to 'concreting' check out You Tube, and Woodcraft Scenic also do a video. If you have any queries please PM me and I'll help if I can.
  20. The detail is breath taking.
  21. Dave what about listing the limited amount of Hornby 'Irish' models, I'm sure you have them all?
  22. I used wood strips and Woodcraft paving tape but I doubled it up to get the right height.
  23. Superb Model Ivor, and shows in the fine detail on each car. You must be very pleased with the end result. Is there any chance of a video of it in action?
  24. Time captured in a picture! Andy I think you should open some more of those 'boxes'.
  25. Finished laying the 'concreted' areas and roadway. Went back over areas already done and filled in any imperfections with a 'runny' mix. After it has sufficiently dried it will be time to sand the surface and paint it. Then the big test - will the trains run alright on the concreted lines?
