  1. Fantastic find, thanks for sharing
  2. I see Irish Freight Models have announced the CIE Park Royal Coach (surburban) to their release schedule for early 2014. No price as yet. http://www.irishfreightmodels.com/index.php/2014-releases.html
  3. Any ideas on what model the chassis originated?
  4. Yes Tom, both are Hornby Class 55 chassis, not the best of motors, but if you don't have severe inclines like mine then it should do the job.
  5. I'm still experimenting with the weights Eamonn. Following your suggestion I ordered the Marklin tyres which arrived on Saturday from Holland. The plastic bag made it as far as the shed but has gone missing and the follow up searches have failed to locate it. The main suspect (scapegoat) is my puppy which grabs anything on the floor and high tails it to the shrubbery.
  6. Superb - a master class in scratch building.
  7. A clear canvass, I'm sure everyone who looks at it is mentally planning what they would do. But you will do something that's unique to you and that's what makes this a fascinating hobby. Looking forwards to seeing your ideas come to reality.
  8. Always the attention to detail which keeps your layout a cut above the rest.
  9. I have been working away on Kirley Junction but it was mostly under the baseboard work including points control and lights for the Yard. I got 2 A Class Kits at Christmas and have been working on their chassis which have been modified from Hornby Class 55 locomotives. I have hoped to resolved the traction problem by using all the weights on the Class 55 on the modified chassis. Test runs on my layout, which have quite steep inclines, show that extra weight is required on the front bogie to pull a rake on heavy Tara Wagons up my steepest inclines and keep going. Here is a video of some of the test runs and a quick over view of where the Layout is at. Warning -it's a bit longer that my usual videos at 4 mins.
  10. Any thoughts Leslie, on giving the talk in Belfast?
  11. Great video, shows off your layout progress very well. The 201 sounds really good.
  12. If Leslie did a Tour, would he be expecting a Road Crew and .......Groupies?
  13. What risk Leslie - only fact. Sound like an interesting evening, any chance of you giving the same talk to the Belfast Branch sometime in the future?
  14. Thanks Tom, this conversion is now on my List of Things To Do -2014.

Really like your houses Leo, nice detail.
  16. Thanks for the pics Barl. Tom, can't open your attachments, can you revisit please.
  17. Well done Dave, I'm sure you know containers were also used for Beet Traffic.
  18. Your scenes always look so alive. I see you are using Bachmann Class 20 chassis for your Hunslets, great smooth runners.
  19. Yes please Tom, a picture is worth a thousand .........
  20. Gangways now "plated up". Steve at Railtec was very helpful in guiding me through the design of the decals. Another project finally completed.
  21. Any advice Tom on the conversion. I know from your work bench you did a MIR 201 conversion but would welcome any advice on the Lima one
  22. Tried one, some improvement but I didn't rush out to buy more.
  23. Any pointers towards photographs? I take it the black livery on lorries did not come in until the 70's?
  24. Thanks for the information.
