  1. Thanks Scahalane, I followed your advice and toned down the Cement Ivory paint colour. Also thanks for all the kind comments. Here's a picture of all my Cement bubbles with the MIR's being the lighter coloured ones.
  2. A video of A Class 045 with a rake of Cement Bubbles. The Bubbles are now in their usual weathered condition.
  3. Thanks for sharing, great pic's
  4. Good luck in your new post George.
  5. Thanks Eamonn for the Video. Your "A" is looking and sounding good.
  6. They are excellent, I was lucky to get the end of a run of Cement Bubbles last Autumn. They were made by someone who is not on this site and not interested in commissions for his work.
  7. This is the way I got the Resin bodies, I had to supply the chassis and piping. Richie- I hope to put up a video after they are weathered. Heirflick- on reflection I should have done some in the earlier livery as I have a small rake of MIR Bubbles but the desire of having a long rake of bubbles won over.
  8. Added wheels, couplings and decals to the Cement Bubbles before weathering. As well as using an oven to shaping Plasticard (as per Glenderg's wagon roofs) you can use the glass top on the cooker for getting a level surface (preferably switched off!)
  9. According to the list of Suppliers this Company does not stock 1/87 scale so they would not do "sugar beet" unless they would consider doing a special order?
  10. Almost completed up-grading my A and C Class locomotives. All the A Class’s have now double power bogies and the C/Class 104 have a SW9/1200 chassis.
  11. History recreated in model form. The attention to detail on this layout jumps out at you. Everywhere you look you see small details that makes it so lifelike.
  12. Great shots, there's just something about a steam engine......
  13. Thanks for taking the time to explain that in detail, I got a grasp of it now.
  14. Depressingly realistic.
  15. "First thing you will need is a former to create the curve. I made one up from balsa wood and mounting board, with regular sections to keep it's shape. " Trying to figure out how you did this Richie, did you use strips of balsa to make the roof former and then sand it down? "This method also works for longer coach roofs, but is trickier generally" What difficulties did you encounter with the longer roof lengths?
  16. Wishing you a speedy recovery Walter.
  17. Wow they look really good, just missing some pipe detail on the floor of the chassis or is that still to come? I think it was Murrayec announced some weeks ago production of Cement Bubbles but then his post disappeared? Do we have two producers of Cement Bubbles now - they say, "Competition is healthy".
  18. Well done Nelson and good luck on your Cattle Wagon Kits
  19. I was very disappointed when 071 Class No. 071 came out in Black & Silver livery. As I did not trust my skills at redoing 071 I went to Anthony (the Weathering Guru ) with 071 and 073. In return I got my 071 in Orange and Black plus a Freight liveried 081 plus some weathering - well you could not go to Anthony without some weathering. Delighted with the results.
  20. Tried something different with lights. I used Fibre Optics and bent them to fit into my A Class as Headlights and Marker Lights. My workbench, mainly detailing the A & C Class, fitting windows and paint touch ups prior to adding the decals, white stripes etc. The Lima 201's in the background are going to be either doubled motored or a Class 66 chassis replacement.
  21. You have a good production line going there.
  22. What is the weight like Eamonn, you won't need to ballast the wagons anyway. An innovative idea!
  23. Attention to detail has paid off, well done.
  24. Great to see you back here again
  25. Finished the initial painting and wired up a second motor bogie so it was time for a test run. No problems with traction now.
