  1. Any update on the development of your 461 model please?
  2. Thanks David for the tip, I'll have a look. However these signals are so fine and fragile I don't think they would stand up to be motorised. Any working ones I've seen are chunkier.
  3. As George said nail scissors will do your job but if you want the tool for the job Google "Xuron Photo Etch Shear/precision Scissors"
  4. It's been ages since I did any work on the layout. The building of the Class 80 set has taken up all my time but I've set it aside to do some bits and pieces. Things like adding ballast and fixing trees are things you won't notice but the addition of signals really makes an impact to the overall look. Three were SSM kits and the others were Glenderg's own, they are just too fiddly for me to make a job of them.
  5. Breath taking!
  6. It's as good as a photograph of the real thing
  7. Great pictures of your layout start, Ireland on a day when the rain has stopped and the sun has come out making everything look fresh and clean.
  8. Well done CG, the layout is taking shape and you are getting good advice from Glenderg. Nice to see your range of Provincial Wagons, keep the pictures coming.
  9. Got a packet of "beet" and tried it out on one of my wagons. Looks the part, only wished I had ordered more as postage was dear.
  10. I think you might have "a point" UP6963 I find it hard to get the nose angle right. It looks like I may have to re profile it. Thanks Alex for the correction on the Driver's window size. "There's none so blind as those who cannot see"
  11. Fantastic work Dave, great to see this layout unfold. The technology is very impressive.
  12. I have those editions, if you can't get them elsewhere I could scan the relevant parts for you.
  13. I am going to do the 3 Car set in Maroon/Light Grey which gives me of option of NIR or IR logos. The Intermediate Car will be painted Maroon/Blue to join a 2 Car set I have in this livery.
  14. I seem to be spending all my time filling, sanding, priming and then starting the whole process over again. Anyway here is the results so far. Two Intermediates and a Driving Trailer I eventually had a go at the front Cab knowing this would make or break this build. Hopefully I have captured the look but if you think otherwise please say as things can be modified at this stage.
  15. R, you've put an idea into my head - have you a link to window overlays, I've seen them somewhere but can't remember where?
  16. Work continues on the Class 80 set. The difficult nose section having a dry fitting. Hope I’ve got the angle right. The Driving Trailer and two Intermediate Trailers with fillers added and rough sanding completed. I'll do another sanding with wet & dry before the first primer coat.
  17. NIR Class 80 - last livery Class 80 photographed in Central Station 2009. Two sets of Power Car/ Driving Trailers numbers: 8094/8747 8093/8757
  18. Having attempted to scratch build these wagons I really appreciate the detail included. Well done to the Model Maker and to you Leslie for coming through with this unique wagon.
  19. Thanks for the information and references
  20. Well done with the Cement Bubbles, and congratulations on a very innovative and unique approach to modelling them. Good to see you are not sitting on your laurels and have a good list of projects in the pipeline. It has to be an encouragement to Those Who View And Are Yet To Do!
  21. Excellent job on the Cattle Wagons, you managed a better job with the decals than I did. Considering the cargo, the interior and part of the outside would have a very "used" look. I understand the insides were every so often 'whitewashed'. Cue Jhb for the correct information.
  22. Thanks for sharing your knowledge and skill
  23. Thanks Stephen, without your help I would never would have got there. It's a bit more cumbersome than Photobucket but as long as it works...
  24. Still working on my Power Car. Tried a dry fit on a Bachmann chassis.
