  1. Thanks Richie, do you know if NIR bought then from IE or have them on loan?
  2. Lovely model Leslie, any developments on a locomotive to pull it?
  3. I thought you could not resist PW stock Richie, I had to look up what Donelli track was. I'm interested to know if they were bought in by NIR or were they adapted from old carriage stock. Thanks for your imputes 33lima & Nelson.
  4. How do you spot that, brilliant that's the first image I have seen of one, many thanks.
  5. Thanks Nelson, that would be good.

    New MPV for NIR

On Translink Site –Procurement Page, "Provision of Multi-Purpose Sandite and Water Jetting Rail Vehicle ________________________________________OJEU – TBA NI Railways wish to purchase a multi-purpose rail vehicle. It will be a modern self-propelled, two bogie, bi-directional vehicle specifically designed to carry driver and a small number of passengers (Infrastructure workers). Vehicle must be operable from either end. It will include the facility to undertake high pressure water jetting of the rail head and the application of sandite. The MPV will be required to operate in traffic at max speed of at least 100km hr. Technical Options: • Weed spraying • Tree surgery and handling • Wagon haul The MPV is expected to be of a modular design allowing for weed spraying equipment to be fitted. The week spraying options must include all the necessary equipment ready to be installed. The tree surgery option will include a hydraulic arm fitted with a grabber. Again a modular approach to installation/ swap out is to be adopted. The wagon haul option means that the MPV is designed and certified to tow/push one or more wagons." It looks like the end of the Class 80 Sandite Train is on the cards (and hopefully its move to Downpatrick).
  7. Continuing my hunt for all NIR Rolling Stock came across these rail wagons. Has anyone any information on them, are they converted coach under frames, or bought it by NIR, how many do they have? Hopefully someone can provide the answers.
  8. The fine detail you put into these models is immense and an inspiration to any model maker.
  9. If only you had put these pictures up earlier, I look and can see things I could have done better. Delighted you are finishing this project.
  10. Any chance of some pictures?
  11. They are mostly Oxfords, Volvo & Scania, if they are curtain sides, I removed them to get the flat trailer. Lido do some suitable one as well, again removing the 'box' on the back. 12. Some Pics
  13. Workbench today. Another MPD plus a Buffet Car to run with the MPD rake. Will the end of this project ever come?
  14. Mine arrive ready made, beautiful models.
  15. Here is one I made from a Dapol Class 151/2 some time ago. But it would not touch a Worsley Works kit, but a lot easier to make. Good luck on your build.
  16. If that's the one on ebay recently Tom you got a good deal there.
  17. Beautiful work John, I can't imagine how many hours of planning and labour went it to getting it to this stage.
  18. A disappointing low attendance at the Carrickfergus Show yesterday. Killagan is always great to see with Colm, Ian & Ken running their unique rolling stock collection. UMRC had promised to show their new Lisburn layout. This turned out to be their current Exhibition layout in the process of being adapted to Lisburn. It's still in the very early stages but there was a beautiful handmade replica of the long footbridge along with the Station Master house. Nelson and family were showing their NE layout with its excellent scenic quality. The day was really made by the opportunity to meet up with many faces from the site. River Roe, Hunslet, on holidays from Glasgow, Jack_Duboyne who had his 3 week old layout layout on show as well as the usual fantastic trees and laser cut buildings which can be custom made. Wrenneire was looking lost amongst Chris Dyers huge range of models and no customers. Hopefully Steventrain will be putting up some pictures shortly. Overall a very enjoyable day out.
  19. Thanks Richie, great photographs.
  20. You're 100% right
  21. Now that Glenderg has launched his BR MK1 Weedspray Coach Overlay Kit it’s had me wondering about a Weedspraying Train. I know that Tom in IFM does RTR Models but has anyone scratch built a Weedspraying Train? That wagons make up a Weedspraying Train and what donor vehicles could be used?
  22. Why would anyone want to do this to a good 141/181? http://www.ebay.ie/itm/Irish-Bachmann-NIR-Blue-Re-Spray-/261551881748?pt=UK_Trains_Railway_Models&hash=item3ce5b4fe14
  23. Great pictures of the layout and models Eamonn.
  24. Barra Best, BBC Weatherman has commented on Facebook, "Out filming in #Newry today. Series on the history of our railways coming this autumn" Something to look forward to.
