  1. An extension of the West Clare seams the best fit. So to that end I have ordered a copy of the Taylor book to start with. Once I have some drawings building the stock probably won't be that difficult making 3ft NG points on the other hand might be more of a challenge, I hate make track in any scale or gauge.
  2. I was going to presume it was a island connected by a thin strip of land. In a similar way that Roa Island, nere Barrow-in-Furness, and Lindisfarne (Holy island) are.
  3. Is the Patrick Taylor book the best book for drawings etc?
  4. My Sister knowing I'm a Father Ted fan bought me a "Visit Craggy Island" t-shirt and a Go on, go on.... Mug for Christmas and this has given me an idea for a little layout set in West Co Clare. So I have now have might of built a line? And what gauge would they have used? Marc
  5. I was there today. Very cold and not half the people that there was last year.

  7. The paint it Tamiya acrilic light grey on the outside and un-weathered wood on the inside. I will ping Leslie and get him to pass on my request.
  8. Having missed the zoom talk the other night was there any photos of the stock pre-1921? If there was can anyone point me to where I might get hold of copyies? Març
  9. I have something similar in mind. I've a got the components for an A4 point which just need a track base and chairs. I'm thinking DN&GR circ 1914 ish
  10. I'm going to miss this one as well. How do you watch it on zoom post event?
  11. I have a finger in many scales but my main interest is 7mm.
  12. What are yo planning on using for rail on your new masterpiece?
  13. It's tempting but as a club of one there is a limit on the size of a layout I can operate on my own at an exhibition. Marc
  14. Complete kits are available in 7mm with brass 3point rockers sprung buffers and 3link couplings. They can be done in G1, S and HO as bodies on demand. They are currently not listed on the website just because I've not got round to it. These is also a Dundalk Newry and Greenore 2plk open available as well. Marc
  15. I don't suppose they are doing one in 36.75mm gauge
  16. If they are no longer in production then I will have a go at doing some as kits if anyone else wants some let me know. Marc
  17. Are these still available?
  18. Try Alan Gibson (Colin) has a good range of P4 wheels. It's best to email him. Marc
  19. I a dipping my toes into P4 at the moment as an alternative to S7. Marc
  20. I was going for fair dodgers.
  21. I have built plain track using it in 7mm. It was pretty straightforward. Only issue I have in 7mm is they don't do check rail chairs for S7 so I went back to brass rivet construction for my S7 points. I have P4 point kit to build which has all the correct chairs. I believe that they do full sets of chairs in 4mm in OOFS, EM and P4 standards. So if your working in 7FS or in 4mm you should be fine.
  22. I have to say the brake van would be an interesting model
  23. Interesting prototype
  24. Those little platforms are actually quite common one lines around the world were tokens or staffs had to be exchanged. Marc
  25. Where would I get my hands on a copy of the GNR(I) coach book?
