  1. As a dedicated 'goods only' fella, I've not been drawn into these, but they do look wonderful. However, I must admit the temptation is growing to'just order one' for my rural branch line project......
  2. It will be interesting to see how much the price the 03 at if/when it does return. The 48ds too. Or maybe the smaller locos won't see that much of a price reduction. Yes please!!
  3. Thank you very much. It looks so much bigger than that! That's a testament to your modelling. Ditto! It takes things to the next level.
  4. I just meant it as a general comment about RM Web, rather than that thread specifically. My gripe is principally with the manufacturer/trade threads where folks are often arguing and falling out. About bizarre stuff like 'top feeds' on GWR tank engines (what the feck is a top feed I ask ). The sense of entitlement sometimes on display does point to an increasingly selfish world. It's the lack of perspective that baffles me..... It's just toy trains... Does it really matter if your latest loco is delayed by three months? Just go and play with the other 99 you have! But I totally agree @Mayner, there are some great threads, and I've also found that mental health one very beneficial. Even though I am mainly an observer, it's fantastic that people have a space they feel they can open up in. So, I am certainly not dismissing the place. I keep reading about this guy.... Who is he? I must admit, I've never watched anything model railway related on YouTube. I'd rather form my own opinions! Doesn't sound like I'm missing out...
  5. Fantastic photos again fella. Thanks for sharing Apologies if I've missed it, but how wide are the baseboards? Cheers
  6. I'd love this to be the case, but I just don't know whether there would be enough interest. 009 benefits from having all those preserved railways where tourists visit, especially in Wales. The Tally, Ffestinog and the like are in the (railway) public consciousness. We don't really have that. Maybe the Manx lines would be a better place to start for 00n3? But, in a hypothetical world, what would you go for, personally I'd love a big West Clare diesel! Ha. Everything 'over there' seems to descend into petty minded squabbling. With know alls telling everyone else what's really going on. I do find it somewhat amusing.
  7. Fantastic! I think we've all told ourselves "NO MORE TRUCKS" but we keep on falling for it.... And, if you keep buying them all up, it is good news for my wallet! You've got enough stock in that cabinet to run a small branch line mind! Yummy
  8. It shows how successful Accurascale have become when they can acquire a big, well established company such as Heljan. I'm taking that as a really good positive for our little niche corner of the world
  9. Wow! Accurascale/IRM continue on the path to world domination! This could open the door to a lot of interesting developments. I look forward to seeing what transpires.
  10. Sorry, what a goon I am. I typed that jn a rush and was completely wrong! You've correctly identified the right one. Sorry
  11. Removed due to my idiocy!!
  12. Another thumbs up for the OSI website https://osi.maps.arcgis.com/apps/dashboards/d5bdc7daef3e4537b67caa31dfcc42d5. It's an amazing resource. I do warn you though, you'll lose hours and hours of your life to it just exploring!
  13. Just rediscovered this.... have you any more photos @cloggydog. It's a wonderful little layout. Then tthe big question..... when will the Irish version break free?
  14. Let us know how you get on with the conversion
  15. Once again, IRM astound me with their wonderful customer service. After months of having a full website basket, I finally pulled the trigger on my big order for wagons at 13.30 yesterday afternoon. I assumed delivery would be towards the middle of next week...... At 11.15 this morning, a big parcel lands on my doorstep! It's incredible. I couldn't be happier. Thank you guys!

  16. To echo others, for me a 141 would have to be the protoype. For exactly the same reason that PM picked it 20 years ago. Long lived, compact, widespread. Dare I say, good looking too! They're the perfect small diesel. Sadly, could you honestly see a manufacturer selling 1,000 units in 7mm scale? I'd love to be proved wrong, but I just cannot see there being the demand. Say if it was a 141, most folks might buy one, two at a push, but not the dozen that some purchased in 4mm scale! PS - I also love the G Class, and it would suit small shunting layouts, but they are more niche (and we need one in 4mm scale!!). PPS - that looks great
  17. Thanks very much for the tip off. I'll reach out to them
  18. EDIT: Please see latest post for most up to date 'wants list' Hi all. I'm looking a few packs of IRM wagons that have long sold out, in order to fill gaps in my collection. Firstly, some oil tankers: https://www.accurascale.com/collections/b-class-tank-wagons Secondly, some magnesite ore wagons, like these: https://www.accurascale.com/collections/magnesite-ore-wagons Diesel oil tanks: https://www.accurascale.com/products/cie-diesel-fuel-oil-tank-wagon-black-pack-1 Brown CIE grain wagons: https://www.accurascale.com/products/cie-bulleid-bulk-grain-wagon-brown-cie-roundel-era-pack-1 Finally, maybe some Bulleid opens with a grey chassis (flying snail era), like these: https://www.accurascale.com/products/cie-12t-corrugated-open-wagon-flying-snail-pack-1 I appreciate this is the longest of longshots, but you don't know until you ask! I should add that I am on the right-hand island at the moment, which means GB or the North based is best. Thank you very much for looking. David
  19. Well, I've just pulled the trigger! Lots of lovely wagons hopefully heading my way in the near future Thanks in advance to the guys at IRM. You've drained my modelling kitty once again!
  20. Ah no! They're here! I've been putting off a much bigger order on the basis that I'll do it together with the palvans...... my bank manager isn't going to like the damage......
  21. They never seem to get anywhere do they.... There must be on hell of a strong current on that canal!
  22. Thanks very much, I'm sure many could find that useful. I like the fact you've developed and added to the basic plan. Whilst I do like the Timesaver it can be a little contrived. Whereas what you've produced looks so natural. Interesting operation is what it should be about.... After all this is supposed to be fun! It looks like there is many hours of play value in your little layout
  23. Thanks very much for your reply. It's much appreciated. They look absolutely fantastic! Far better than my bodged old Mainline 5-plank opens, repainted with a flying snail! They are as crude as it comes
