  1. Only thing i have in mind to learn is wiring the track to run DC and DCC rolling stock in case i buy locos that were fitted with DCC so i dont have to fiddle with them back to DC but thats soemthing to worry when i finally have the boards set where i plan them
  2. I made an 071 in Minecraft years ago when I was abt 10-11 yrs old but forget if it was actually good or downright diabolical
  3. Some pics from bray air show a few years back I got Its their resting spot when they aren’t in the air I remember that very clearly, idk if it’s still in use it’s on my me of those tourist bogs where u jump in forget which one though I was only like 8 or 9 at the time I visited
  4. Some better shots of 206 with the scuffed paintwork showing hints of the old plug livery
  5. 9003 and 206 count in at abt quarter past 6 for the 18:50 service to belfast IMG_5349.mov IMG_5349.mov Video won’t load of the full set coming in but got shorter clips and pics IMG_5348.mov IMG_5350.mov U can also notice the orange paintwork still on it
  6. That’s amazing leslie, thanks so much for the inspirational words Lucky for u to have such a large space, my biggest challenge is room but a few awkward spots won’t stop me from getting the job done That’s a bit like I’ve in mind but the double circuit is longer and a fewer track sidings I’m the same with space but I can always work around the difficult spots and those spots that look and feel like a nightmare are the ones u find the most opportunity for creativity in
  7. Ofcourse thanks very much
  8. Final drawings been done of Connolly I will be drawing the full circuit during the week U notice I drew a junction on the Birds Eye view as I realised be no point adding the turntable as I intended due to the area being too sharp for accuracy The designs labelled 1, 2 and 3 are showing rough concept designs for supports under Connolly shed, I’ve decided with 2 as the drawers would come in handy as space is a big thing to tackle in my bedroom Give ur thoughts and opinions on my work as it is my first layout Im making Also drawings are for a carpenter my parents had him doing doors and they thought whilst he’s here he could do the layout so after he’s done with the doors in my house, he’ll get around to the layout and it’s an extra pair of experienced hands to help, Im looking forward to do the circuit by myself as I want to be specific in my curvature of the flexitrack while I’ll be buying from marks as it is my layout and personally doesn’t count if I get someone to do all the work on it I will be for sure doing the wiring, building structures, track laying and detailing When I get my laptop back from being fixed, hopefully I can be able to mess around with online planning so I can get a more in depth view of my future work
  9. Join as I show my progress drawing building and designing Connolly shed along with a double circuit passing Connolly shed and around my bedroom This is also my first layout to make ever and it will run DC and DCC
  10. I made a new thread over in the model layout channel where I’ll show the current progress in my drawing and the rest of the way
  11. UPDATE: I’ve drawing out the plan for the area of the board for the layout and I will then after on a separate sheet draw the shed on the board as doing it all on one drawing is too chaotic and disorganised
  12. I can remember vividly there was a layout in a toy master in Ashbourne haven’t been able to find any photos of it but can remember barely able to see the full scale but clearny remember a dark green steam loco zoom right past me Would anybody here have any information on it?
  13. I wondering how the doors and windows were modified Thanks
  14. What mk3s are they as they don’t look like Lima, did u make them urself?
  15. Exactly I’ll be doing it just 3 tracks, battery shed and the turntable
  16. Ur exactly on point, as the area in working with is too small to do connolly with 4 tracks and the the coal yard it is also the most nostalgic with me seeing it over the years
  17. Would there be a drawing of the front with 3 tracks leading in?
  18. What BR mk3 did u repaint?
  19. Good question So in the 3 standard set there is 7135,7156 and 7141 with the 201, there 7129, 7151 and the restaurant car is 7411 I’ll be getting ready run from silver fox and I’ll find a realistic but cheap mk3 gen van as no point splashing money on something I’ll be painting
  20. Thanks Darren I’m not very good wilt any rail but I’ll defo give it a try and I’ll use peco streamline tracks for the point tracks as they suit best Got these On my way to Bangor
  21. The dealer selling them told me one of those went for €1500 he showed me a screenshot @WRENNEIRE posted abt it I can’t seem to find the post but I’m delighted anyway and I hope to buy a silver fox push pull and make my own mk3 gen van in the mean till I’ll use my mk2d gen van I noticed in the last photo the coaches had different tints of orange likely from sun exposure or from warm lamps
  22. Unexpected happend( I bought the set)
  23. I’d forward them onto u when I get an email of them but for now I’ll work with Sketches of support and board Measurements of the area where it will be in my room Track layout(satellite view from google earth will work perfect) and I’ve photos of other extra details like junction boxes I took on my way to Bangor that morning
  24. So from the “blue bible” on the bottom up to the Dingle train is what I’ve got but I’m keen on standard gauge dimensional drawings also the Tralee and dingle by rowlands, McGrath and Francis and the bottom last 3 is what I got in Donegal heritage centre
  25. Ive sent an FOI request and drawing of the shed is one of them
