  1. I love watching this progress Stephen. There is great modelling all round. I know that it is inspiring a lot of people myself included. It's going to be special and your efforts are an example to all of how hard work and persistence go hand in hand to produce a magical layout. Rich,
  2. It was a great experience Vincent. Even if the driver reduced the speed down 5 mph you could feel it. It's a totally different experience to sitting in a coach where you watch things pass from the side. The model looks great. Rich, Rich,
  3. I'll never get sick of seeing her Vincent. 220 was always a favorite of mine prototype wise. My model of 220 is one of the prides of my own fleet. I love the original IE livery on the 201's. I was lucky enough to have traveled in the cab from Waterford to Dublin many years ago. One of the drivers that I know presented me with a cab pass and it was a great experience. I traveled in 201 on the return journey that evening. 220 opened up to full pelt running through the flat lands of The Curragh, it was an experience I will never forget. Things are beginning to take shape with the layout, good for you. Rich,
  4. That's that one solved. Thanks very much. There's a great wealth of knowledge on the group and you will always find that someone has the answers. Rich,
  5. It sounds like everyone had a great time. It's a great way to make friendships and cement others, plus there's trains involved. Everyones a winner. I would love to have been able to attend but maybe next time. Sounds like Fran got some of the good stuff. Rich,
  6. My photos were taken around the early 2000's Rob. As you have said it's a start. Rich,
  7. A good performance from a young Chris Penn in Pale Rider Rob. He did change a lot appearance wise from that movie to Reservoir Dogs. The PC is giving a bit of trouble at the moment, if it isn't sorted in the next week I'll send some pics. Don't worry about postage. Rich,
  8. Eamonn I think wires have been crossed the request for photos was mine, probably my fault. Thanks for the heads up regarding Eiretrains. Rich,
  9. Dave you are being very modest. You're wagons show the effort it has taken to build them and thank you very much for posting them. They look great. Rich,
  10. GM there was a rake parked up in Waterford East behind the flour mills 5 or 6 years ago but they were withdrawn earlier. There should be dates on the photos I took many years ago so at least it will give an accurate timeframe of when they were running. I have no doubt that one of our members will come up with a more definitive answer in the meantime. Rich,
  11. You're very welcome Finnyus. They are superb photos and the London photos are very nostalgic. They capture a moment of history and if no one does it, then we have no history. Great stuff. Rich,
  12. Eamonn any chance you could, with Davids permission pm me some of those photos as photos of that area are few and far between in my collection. Rich,
  13. If you think that you can rework the back drop to a better standard Patrick it says a lot about the quality of your work. Everything else of course looks fabulous also. Rich,
  14. I took some photos of them in Waterford West many years ago Rob. They were taken pre digital era. I will fish them out over the next few days and pm you for address details. I'll post some to you then. I may even still have the negatives if you want to have any resized. Rich,
  15. Great pics as usual. I love the orange and black door on 072. Is it from a 141-181. Rich,
  16. Sounds good Rob, look forward to seeing them. Rich,
  17. It is of great interest and is historical fact. Thank you very much for taking the time to compile and post this. You are a library of information, you're presence and willingness to share it here is hugely appreciated. Even a lot of the rolling stock that was on the network 5 years ago is consigned to history now. Historical fact like this is priceless in this hobby, and plays a huge roll in the grand scheme of things. I hope this encourages more people to photograph anything railway related and make notes because the hobby can't survive without it in the long run. Superb stuff and thank you once again. Rich,
  18. I think all we need now Noel is someone to invent a device that gives off the whiff of diesel. I love the generator van by the way. Rich,
  19. Forget the pressure, take some time out and play trains. If you get a chance some video of the sound fitted loco in service would be very much appreciated. The leveling feet on the baseboards are an essential for good running and Dave's work is stunning. You're a lucky boy. Rich,
  20. Some amazing photos Finnyus. I have spent many an evening looking through you're collection. I love the pics of Elephant and Castle tube station in the collection. I used it frequently when I was south of the river in London on the Bakerloo line. Rich,
  21. You're welcome Rob. Any advice you get and you will get plenty here put it to use and you will find something that works best for yourself. Please post some pics of your wagons when they are finished, I bet they'll look great. Rich,
  22. Rob I hope these will be of some use. Earthy colors dry brushed on give a very nice representation of a well worked Beet wagon. Think of the effects of the sun and the loading of the Beet and it should give you a more work a day look. Rich,
  23. I didn't see your post Seamus as I was compiling my own and putting up the Christmas tree at the same time so apologies for duplication, but we obviously have the same train of thought on this subject. Rich,
  24. Could I make a suggestion Stephen. Richie has done a fabulous job on a lot of the structures. It may be worth finishing the decorative part of the viaduct in a similar fashion and thus keeping it in appearance with the rest of the structures on the layout. Hat's off to Dave for his amazing woodwork it is something special to behold. Rich,
