  1. It keeps me interested Stephen as nothing ever stays the same at the inception of a layout. There are constant changes along the way as you learn. Great ideas can come out of nowhere. I'm beginning to see where this layout is going and it's going to keep you busy. Rich,
  2. I think the model will fulfill a lot of peoples dreams as it was always at the top of a lot of peoples list's for their favorite Irish mainline diesel loco. Rich,
  3. Rome wasn't built in a day Stephen. The progress so far has been moving at a very fast pace. It takes huge amounts of dedication and sweat and tears, but it must be very satisfying to be at the point you are now. I really enjoy the regular updates and it will be nice to discuss things in person on Saturday. Rich,
  4. Fertiliser, Anyhydrous, and Weedspray Stephen. Rich,
  5. It's definitely a buyers market at the moment. Rich,
  6. Things have really changed since the mid 2000's Vincent. I'll have to look the other way when I am leaving Waterford on Saturday morning as it kills me to see the MKIII's wasting away in Waterford West. Rich,
  7. I'm looking forward to seeing an 071 in action on the rails Stephen. Put off the ballasting and play trains, upload some video too. Rich,
  8. The launching of the models at the show is a great idea. It will make for one memorable show. Rich,
  9. I think architectural modelling has always been at the pinnacle of the hobby, and people like Richie must do a lot of research before starting a project. What starts out as a blank canvass and an idea comes alive. Plenty of manufactures produce products that all look the same when built but no two of Richie's models are ever the same, they are unique. It is the one part of the hobby where most people fall down. There are many kit's or ready to plant buildings available and that is because it terrifies a lot of modellers. and that's why the card kits, plastic kits, or ready to plonk kits are mass produced. I went to Pendon many years ago and I was mesmerized by the quality of the buildings which are over forty years old. I wish Richie all the luck with his new investment. His genuinely good nature and modesty deserves mention also. Rich,
  10. Does anyone know the quality of the coaches. European modelling is a bit an unknown entity to me. Rich,
  11. Thanks for the link Portoman and welcome to the group. Rich,
  12. I saw it on youtube a while back Pat, and it brings back some great memories. It seems the only way to see that now is to model it. Which is the greatest aspect of the hobby, creating happier and more interesting times. Rich,
  13. I hope you have a great time too. Rich,
  14. I'd say you can bite like one too Dave. If I have time I'll get you a Vanilla Slice on the way out to the show. By the way I must pm you later. Rich,
  15. I'll have herself and the kids with me and Harmonstown seems the better option as I have used it before. Rich,
  16. I wouldn't like to see you sleeping rough in the bus station in Waterford Richie. I'll put you up for the night . Rich,
  17. No price for friends Stephen a smile will suffice. Rich,
  18. Stephen I have some Hurst Models cable trunking lying around somewhere. I'll bring it with me on Saturday as I don't have any plans to use it myself. Rich,
  19. It might not be a bad idea to stick them on ebay and see how it goes but remember it is a lottery and you may not get what you want, irrespective of the price reached when auction's of the same models as your own have ended. To be honest they are going to be second hand for the customer that buys them and at the current exchange rate they are nearly priced similarly to what they were when originally released. I wish you all the best with selling your collection either way. Rich,
  20. To be honest I think 85 Sterling is a bit steep for 146-192 if they are second hand. You may need to rethink your prices especially when p&p is not included in the sale price. Rich,
  21. It is Dave, I've used the route myself before. Rich,
  22. I'll take the Dart to Harmonstown myself and walk from there. Shouldn't be more than ten minutes. Rich,

Practice on an old piece of rolling stock and get your masking technique perfected and you can't go wrong. I feel your reluctance to try but as Eamonn has said ask on here. Confidence is a huge factor, but the practice will help there. Rich,

It looks great Des, I wish you the best of luck with it. Rich,
  25. Richie the three dimensional look of the finished models is among the best I have ever seen in printed modelling. I can't praise you enough and I really appreciate your talent at architectural model building. The standard in the various fields of modeling from our members is very high here and very inspirational. Rich,
