  1. Still one of my favorite 071 photos Eamonn I love the small body side logo and open doors. Rich,
  2. That's good news I might invest in another one myself in case my other one goes missing. Is there a checkrail or flangeway gauge available from the stores for 21mm as it's always handy to have two of each. Rich,
  3. Smashing photos Cathal the DB Schenker livery looks realy familiar now that some UK locos are turned out in it. Rich,
  4. I've only just seen this thread now. Excellent work and the wagons look great with the Bell containers in situ. Rich,
  5. Now could be the time to stock up on some more chairs for the layout build. Rich,
  6. It'll nice to be able to go online and order from the webpage. I have to say that I think the P4 Track Co products are better detailed and the special chairs for building track are fantastic. Having said that C&L also offer some great products in their range. Rich,
  7. I look forward to seeing this progress, good luck and I'm sure it will be an amazing model. Rich,
  8. Some lovely photos Cathal. I am not really a huge fan of the DMU - EMU's but they are a permanent fixture of todays railways. If you get a chance to photograph all the details of the non fire extinguisher side of a 201 chassis (like those you took of 226's chassis) on your travels I would really appreciate it as I won't be doing any photographing myself for a while. Rich,
  9. The latest link seems to be working. I will edit the first post. Rich,
  10. http://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php?/topic/61720-where-can-i-get-exactoscale-products-answer-cl-finescale-page_fromsearch_1 Rich,
  11. I've just checked it Pat and you're right, RMweb locked and merged posts to stop duplication. I will try again. Rich,
  12. I read this earlier on RMweb and although they mainly deal with UK based railways and 4mm - 7mm the Exactoscale range is still as useful for 21mm modellers of the Irish scene. The original link wouldn't work so I have left a new one in post 4. Rich,
  13. That's one hell of a model Pat. Correct me if I'm wrong but weren't the cardan shafts beneath the chassis on that model, and connected to the bogies. Rich,
  14. That looks very interesting and takes things to a new level. Have you seen Pugsleys 0 gauge Class 37 sprung bogies. Rich,
  15. Fran imagine if the springs actually served a purpose and the bogies were sprung. I remember a chap using clothes peg springs on a 7mm scratch built model and when they were weathered they looked really good. However if any kind of kink or bend does happen to the spring it could look strange. I think I might have to invest in one myself in ochre. Rich
  16. The Westerns are a different class Seamus and are classed as class 52. The Warships are classed as class 42. You are spot on the class 22 is a lovely model as are a lot of the Great Western prototypes. Rich,
  17. It's amazing Fran and I can see lot's of Heljan Westerns turning up on ebay soon. It has set the bar at it's highest so far in 00 gauge. Advice and knowledgeable opinion of the prototype is free and given willingly on forums like ours and RMweb. It just amazes me that other manufacturers don't do it, it costs nothing and it doesn't do any harm to reference knowledgeable people. Well done Dapol. Rich,
  18. I have been following the design and manufacture of this model since it was announced that Dapol would be producing it in 00. I always had a soft spot for the Westerns and they are a beautiful loco. Dapol laser scanned a prototype and measured it in the early stages of r&r. They also kept modellers informed all the way through design to production and asked for the advice and expert opinion of the members on the RMweb group that are knowledgeable know every inch of the prototype. Cad designs and early pre production shots of the model were amended and corrected on the advice of the members and the first shots of the model have been released. I can honestly say that this breaks new ground for any 00 gauge loco model yet produced and the wealth of extra details especially around the bogies is amazing. It just goes to show that if a manufacturer gets involved with prospective customers and people that know the prototype a top model without any silly errors can be produced. I have left this link to RMweb for the most recent thread on the model and it is well worth reading if you are really interested in model railways and the production side of the process. http://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php?/topic/61611-dapol-western-breaks-cover-at-steam-swindon/ Rich,
  19. Yep that's the Red Iron Bridge in Waterford. It is a twin of the Barrow Bridge. The rotating span was sold and I believe it is in Africa. The other span is sitting just beyond Waterford West signal cabin. The line diverged left for the bridge just beyond the first level crossing past Waterford West signal cabin. The Waterford Suir Valley Railway runs on part of the old line to Kilmeaden. Rich,
  20. Spot on Gareth. If memory serves me correctly they once belonged to a 141 in the 151-9 numbered locos. The NIR livery really suits these locos and the model looks amazing. I can't wait to add one to the fleet. I think an etched nameplate will really take them to another level. Rich,
  21. Have you had a look at the latest Scalefour News Horsetan. Have you heard about or seen the Pórt Láirge Wharf layout mentioned on page 3. Rich,
  22. I would like to wish everyone involved with the show huge success and I hope everyone attending has a great day. I will certainly make sure I attend next year. Rich,
  23. Make sure you use a Bachmann chassis from a BSK coach as the door steps will be in the wrong place on the chassis otherwise. The GSV's were converted from BSK's from no's 3174 - 3189. No's 3171 - 3173 were BCK's. Here's a photo to show the difference in the two coaches. The BCK etch is on top and the BSK etch which the Silver Fox models are based on is on the bottom. Rich,
  24. Stephen I have a small booklet from Hurst Models that was published for the placement of the equipment and it's use. I will scan it when I can lay my hands on it and email it to you. Rich,
  25. As a Man U fan I am delighted for the families and friends of those who lost their lives and were seriously injured and equally as delighted for everyone involved with Liverpool Football Club and the city. Rich,
