  1. Managed to find it again - this is it, even his dog on the drive.
  2. Great stuff! That house looks remarkably like Mr Mashima's house. When it was announced that Mashima Motors was closing, I looked up the address on Street View and found that it was not the industrial unit that I was expecting, but a house, just like that one, with a bicycle leaning against the open gate.
  3. There's a village triangle in Dubai, at Jumeirah, but the architectural styles are way off...
  4. The stone Metcalfe stuff does have some potential for non-prototypical Hibernisation, I feel.
  5. Bachmann have produced a couple, which turn up on eBay, etc., now and then. Based on Clonmel. And Carlow.
  6. Good man, I'm sure we'll shift a few. You may even move a few via Stradbally Station...
  7. If people were smart enough, there wouldn't be an issue. Oddly, they seem to be rarely used against road vehicles, where drivers are at a much shorter range and with a lot less leeway for immediate error.
  8. There are a few moles in the system - hopefully, one of them might turn something up.
  9. I've just come across this - - if anybody knows Ken Fox and he's going to do it again for next year, then he might shift a few more through here...
  10. Although the quantities in modelling events may be small, it is worth being aware of some of the excitement that can occur if certain substances are mixed. http://www.irongategroup.co.uk/blog/why-you-should-never-mix-cleaning-chemicals/
  11. That's some weathering.....
  12. I always thought the beat wagons were an attempt to update the Radio Train concept.
  13. McCabe towbars were to be seen regularly waiting on the platform at Ballybrophy until fairly recently. http://mccabetowbars.ie/
  14. Supertrain advert - http://ifiplayer.ie/cie-going-home/
  15. I found four E&GR drawings only - e.g., http://archives.sciencemuseumgroup.ac.uk/Details/archiveindustry/110004142
  16. Ideal headgear for the exhibition-goer?
  17. Done. When/where is the graduation party?
  18. Short of the fact that the machines already exist, there is little to recommend burning oil in a steam engine, rather than in a diesel. If the fuel is suitable for diesel combustion, then the efficiency difference will be immediately apparent. There is rather less need for a fireman in the crew, though, as fuel transfer can be more easily automated. IÉ oil-burners were identified by large white discs on the smoke-box door and the sides of the tenders.
  19. ..started this day in 2002. http://www.rte.ie/archives/2017/0511/874239-first-female-train-driver/
  20. CIÉ had 93 oil burning steam locos in 1946/7, but, as coal supplies returned to normal after the war, the scheme was dropped - with a short resumption in 1954.
  21. Small differences can have quite an effect on sounds. People who rode motorbikes in 70s may remember how about 25% of Allegros had an aerodynamic whistle from the front bodywork. And the AW Argosy had a very distinctive sound, marking it out easily from all other Dart-powered aircraft.
  22. The words 'hung, 'over' and 'weekend' so often occur in the same sentence...
  23. Have you made more than one album? Click All images, then New album from the drop list to do so. Then add images to that album. It's only an issue if you want to find them again. There used to be a 250 limit for free use, but it seems to be infinite now.
