  1. This is about the Private Message system between individuals - not the public, open threads. You haven't been here long enough to clog it up with rubbish, like I have....
  2. I'm OK with it, I just felt that people might be warned, in case they do have stuff there that they could accidentally lose in a rushed clear-out.
  3. Neatly found, and an Irish flavour, too - I wonder which county the O'Jays were from? Quite a different style to the average showband.
  4. I got a warning yesterday that I was approaching 90% of my message storage limit here, so I had a good clear-out of old stuff that I don't really need to have any record of. It might be worth others knowing that this limit exists and to keep an independent record of any info that they might want to retain access to, in case they delete the wrong message when they get the warning.
  5. That would mean Citizens' Advice Bureau over here - a less threatening call than one from the Criminal Assets Bureau, not that I have personal experience. Although, we have had a history of people nicking locos over here - http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/222883.stm .
  6. Other arrangements are possible.
  7. There was a little difficulty, I believe... ..not any worse than a caravan, though, I suppose..?
  8. That was in Telford, not far from me - I'm not sure if it's still there.
  9. If only there was some way that we could go back in time.......
  10. The interestingly named Maryborough Station in Victoria, Australia, has dual gauge track - 5' 3" and 4' 8½". ..bit far to run a tunnel to there, though..
  11. Ah, that tapered rear pillar said "not Fiesta" to me, you could well be right - not a common car in the UK, as many as there were in Ireland..
  12. Hopefully there was an offshore breeze, or there would only be the glass and tyres left when he came back for it..
  13. Full scale components being produced. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-32597809
  14. Please yourself.
  15. Maybe it would have been greater if it had been properly funded before - the cost to the nation is far greater than it was before the break-up.
  16. I've sent the odd two-fingered letter....
  17. The taxpayer-funded subsidies to the UK's 'private' rail system now far exceed anything that the nationalised system could have even dreamed of....
  18. Indeed, it would almost be shame to hide them with a load. A lovely thing.

  20. I'm not a fan of the Hornby flexi-track - the Peco seemed a lot easier to use.
  21. Yes, but they aren't really fishplates, so Rail Joiners is a better description.... You can also get plastic ones, for where you might want an isolated section. Cosmetic plastic fishplates are available for the right 'look'.
  22. If buying flexi-track, don't forget to get enough joiners, as well......
  23. That's the beauty of Streamline - you can have a closer spacing on the straights and 'slide' the spacing wider on the bends, as necessary.
  24. In 00 4mm is one foot - a tenth of an inch is 2.5 mm, or 5/8 of a foot, which is 5 times 1.5 inches, or 7.5 inches - a bit over-sized. Somewhere around 5 or 5.5 inches seems about right, in real life.
