  1. A quick look through shows that Abhainn an Scail http://www.tdlr.info/news/abhainnanscailannascaulmodelrailway - is booked, although they've managed to misspell it...
  2. Details of next year's exhibition have become available. - Saturday 31st of January and Sunday 1st of February - promises of 40+ layouts and a bit more canteen space - also some alterations to the parking arrangements. 10-5 on Saturday and 10-4:30 on Sunday. £9. http://www.staffordrailwaycircle.org.uk/exhibition.php Always a good do.
  3. This might be of some interest to those of a certain age - http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b04d11l6 - it's not on until four o'clock, but then it'll be on iPlayer for at least a week after - sometimes takes an hour or two to appear on Listen Again.
  4. Indeed - people are fitting flashing blue LEDs now, too.
  5. Lima did produce a Police-liveried 37 - I saw one today for £55, presumably due to the rarity value.
  6. As much as I like the idea of the Nenagh branch, I remember getting off a Cork train at Ballybrophy once, when there was a replacement bus service for Nenagh passengers. About five people got off with me. My onward lift was a little late that day, and it became clear that there were no passengers for Nenagh at all..... I worry about the water tower, too - it is cordoned off these days and quite a bit of the concrete has spalled off.
  7. That was on the A51 - the B52 is nearer to you - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/B52_road_(Northern_Ireland) ...
  8. And a bridge strike a couple of miles from me.. Here - https://maps.google.co.uk/maps?q=stafford&ll=52.817105,-2.004446&spn=0.000712,0.001206&hnear=Stafford,+United+Kingdom&gl=uk&t=h&z=20&layer=c&cbll=52.817105,-2.004446&panoid=UnrM3p0ZjgqVpJNnh1-yqQ&cbp=12,288.98,,0,-3.1
  9. Banned! http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-wales-south-east-wales-28704512
  10. There will be a (very) short exam at the end.
  11. A sort of can-opener/spoon - a bit daft, all right... Yanks had a similar thing. The British had the 'Baby' can-opener, at the bottom, made a bit more sense.
  12. My mate's mob at the Churnet Valley.
  13. I've seen their stuff, the have some remarkable machinery....
  14. A friend of mine has recently become heavily involved with WW2 re-enactment - http://www.gdrecon.co.uk/ - the Germans had some really good kit, I've got him to get me a TSR99 set, a classic design.
  15. It was a couple of months ago - it was in case anybody spotted all the dollar stashes that were going on - they'll be getting their retribution in first - and shortly....
  16. Well spotted - that could be last year's poster - https://www.facebook.com/events/427889943993500/ .
  17. If we thought there was any chance that you might know why, then we might have to spend some of it....
  18. Just remember where it is. My computer packed in a few days ago - sounded like a disc was failing, so I unplugged everything and took it round to my tame geek's place. I found a hundred quid underneath the case - no recollection of putting it there - result! And the disc was working after the disturbance - and has been OK since, too......
  19. It's only money - most of us need to lose weight, anyway.....
  20. Best to let hot money cool down a bit first......
  21. Unless she's the type that dusts the tops of the doors......
  22. Soon get rid of the queue... This is my mate in his Malayan days.
  23. Great stuff! Bren guns everywhere lately, I took this pic on Sunday, for a friend who was upset that they wouldn't let him keep his when he came back from Malaya. I got arrested in Cyprus once, and carted off in a Land Rover. They had cracked the radio battery in their haste to get to me and, by the time they had got me back to HQ, the floor in the back had completely disappeared - a bit of a dodgy ride....
