  1. Ah, just slap a decent buffer in front - if it's good enough for Portlaoise....
  2. I did - some days ago. No response so far, but he's probably getting his ears severely bent about lots of other things, too....
  3. And double yellows, too - they would get some fair ticket for parking it there...
  4. It occurs to me that the only railway item that I have ever bought mail-order was the Sentinel, which was only really available mail-order. My comments above relate to two identical showers, bought from the same supplier, but using different couriers.
  5. Very interesting. I see that it shoved the buffer stop nine meters and left it undamaged - as we discussed friction buffer stops recently - http://irishrailwaymodeller.com/showthread.php/1418-Irish-Bufferstops?p=20861&viewfull=1#post20861
  6. Fantastic - I can hear the jackdaws when looking at that first picture.. ..but somebody might need to slap some paint on that phone box...
  7. I'm not 100% convinced, but there aren't that many curved ones at that sort of length..
  8. It has the look of Martholme - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Martholme_Viaduct - though, that closed in '57...
  9. From here on - http://irishrailwaymodeller.com/showthread.php/67-Tara-Junction?p=8305&viewfull=1#post8305 ...
  10. This just needs sharpening up a bit...
  11. A lot can depend upon who they are using to carry it. I've had stuff delivered here, two identical items from the same supplier, and they have taken two days and nine weeks. The best service has been from DPD, they will not only tell you what day it will be delivered, but, on that morning, they will tell you what hour it will arrive in - I thought they were joking the first time, but it's a spot-on service from them.
  12. Not sure if you can still get this...
  13. 48 bars for £31 - http://www.aquarterof.co.uk/frys-orange-cream-p-145.html - if you've been a good boy....
  14. Just as everybody is naked under their clothes, so everybody is bald under their hair..
  15. We discussed this a while back - http://irishrailwaymodeller.com/showthread.php/459-Upturned-Head-light?highlight=headlight+helicopter Pay attention at the back or you'll be staying behind..!
  16. We're not old - we've just been alive longer...
  17. Great stuff - is that a shed pretending to be houses in the background..?
  18. Twice round the shop - with a loop round the car-park.? Good luck with the move.
  19. It depends upon how (shy and) retiring one is...
  20. Not really bemused, but more terrified, was the look on the face of the manager of Oakengates Town Hall, as he opened the doors to let the crowd in to see the Pogues around 1982. He seemed to have thought that he'd booked something like an Irish version of Jimmy Shand and was clearly traumatised by what confronted him. You could clearly see him desperately trying to work out which would be the least horrific - letting us in or trying to keep us out..?
  21. Not bad - perhaps we could club together and get Bus Éireann a set of hub-caps to bring theirs in line. It's really great that such a small market is catered for these days. All we need now is for the excellent Bachmann Scenecraft figures to feature a range of Guards - with optional pony-tails.
  22. Indeed - genius!!
  23. You wouldn't want to be stood there at the time......
  24. Crikey, that'll take some dustpan and brush to clean it up. Did the train de-rail and hit the silo - or the silo collapse and de-rail the train?
  25. A fairly dramatic bridge-strike in England - http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-hampshire-21229913 .
