  1. If it was the motor itself then you should still have lights..
  2. Not ideal to put on your CV..?
  3. Can you take a supply straight to the collector springs - with a couple of bits of wires from the track?
  4. In that case it's not shorted out - you have an open circuit somewhere, which should be more fixable. Have you looked at the back of the wheels - where the collectors rub? Is the current reaching the collectors? It doesn't take much gunge to stop conduction there. Do you have meter? You can maybe find where the break is with that. If you have nothing at all on DC, then that would imply a fault that is general, in the sense that power is not progressing far past the wheels..
  5. First thing is to find out if it really is short-circuited, or has it gone open circuit. Put it on the same track with another, good, engine - if the good one moves, then it has gone open circuit - if the good one doesn't move, then it's short-circuited. Open circuiting may just be caused by dirty wheel contacts. Short circuiting can often be caused by things, usually track pins, being picked up off the track.
  6. Just show 'em the door..

  10. How much will you have to pay to register a fridge? Will one payment cover all fridges at one address? Etc....? A friend of mine had a pub in darkest Laois. He was inspected and the inspector found several issues to comment on. He was asked to look at the gents' with the inspector - 'Look at the state of this place!', she said. 'So what?', he answered, 'they come in here to piss, not to eat sandwiches off the floor!'.. They parted on bad terms....

  19. It might not be too obvious in the picture, but the one with the alien sign on it does have the line running down the ramp, after where it runs across the platform at the end of the level bit.. But that's probably just for aliens..
