Living in England, I'm used to the rather pompous announcements that you get here - e.g., "The train now approaching Platform Three is the delayed fourteen fifty three Virgin Cross Country service to Manchester Piccadilly, calling at ...etc" Rather a different style at Portlaoise, where I once heard "That's the Cork train coming in now."

  20. Wikipedia says 10 miles or 16 kilometres..
  21. Miniatur Wunderland is currently over 13km and is planned to reach 20km by 2020 - but, I suppose you can't run one train over the whole of it in one go...
