I have no doubt he at the very least, had, a Bandon tank that’s somehow been lost to time. Considering they did some nice work in the Dublin area. ironically, a Bandon Tank is probobly one of the more available models to get in 0 gauge. A freind of mine has a superb 3D print, rivets and all for 0 gauge. just needs a terrier chassis and some bogeys. There is also the alpha graphix kit for those more brave and skilled. 

In one photo of his layout in his home, part of what looks like a Bandon Tank can be seen, partially obscured, so he MIGHT have had one.

There is - strangely - no record of him ever having had any J15 - maybe he thought them too “ordinary”. Not the nearest equivalent, the Midland J18.

It’s known that he retained a very small few models and gave away a few - were looking at a dozen maximum.

His daughter, now 90, retains about 5 or 6 locos, mostly LMS.

It is thought that distant family members have 1 or 2 more.

It is believed by some, that light fingered chaps were at work here- way back at the setting up of the Castle Museum! There is also evidence in the collection that some of the Fry 3 rail models were converted to two rail.......

I do know that one of his LLSR relics - a coach transfer monogram - went for a walk....

More from Malahide Railway Museum. The Mk 4 for Cork has a fault in its satnav, so it’s heading for Wicklow instead….

A large scale touring coach model, said to be one of Fry's and once part of a CIE window display, surfaced for sale maybe a decade ago and disappeared again into the ether.

Yes, he made that as a commission for CIE for a display stand they had.

This used to be in the Fry Castle Museum, CIE commissioned it for display at a show in the UK, not built by Fry but ended up in the museum. It used to reside in St Andrews Church (Tourist Office) Suffolk Street, not sure if it is still there!

I wasn't sure if I was looking at over-ambitious weathering, or if it was just the primer showing through.
