amdaley Posted April 25 Posted April 25 (edited) Hi Everyone. Anyone had any problems getting items from Dart Castings in the Uk. I ordered some wagon compensation units from them about a month ago. Yesterday I got an email from them saying the package had been returned by Irish Customs. I suggested they used the wrong customs tariff code. They sent me a photo of the return label. Anyone get something like this before ? Tony. EDIT: They sent out my order again & it arrived today. Customs valued the order at €16 which between Vat & Admin fee cost me €7.20 The lack of a HS tariff code on the original order was the problem it seems. It's amazing that even this long after Brexit some UK companies still can't get it right. Tony. Edited May 3 by amdaley 1 Quote
Gabhal Luimnigh Posted April 25 Posted April 25 I would guess that they put in the wrong description on the form, the red tape involved with overseas postage is gone ridiculous, I got shafted with a €31 bill from an post for a parcel yesterday, vat and admin fee 1 Quote
skinner75 Posted April 25 Posted April 25 Sounds like a Brexit bonus to me! I got charged €5 extra on a magazine coming from the UK yesterday 1 Quote

murphaph Posted April 25 Posted April 25 Sodding German customs sent my Baby GMs back to IRM. All inside the single market. I've never had a parcel actually sent back to any sender, inside or outside the EU (normally parcels with insufficient documentation are held in my local customs office for me to go open them in front of them, but intra-EU stuff should never be sent anywhere for lack of paperwork) so I can't wait to find out what exactly they are saying the problem is! Patrick is on top of it, giving me regular updates, which I'm grateful for. I hope you get your DART stuff soon Tony. I haven't experienced problems getting their stuff to me here in Germany. 1 5 Quote

I have a subscription to Railway Modeller which usually turns up within two weeks of publication date. I'm also in the gauge 0 guild and have this morning received the May issue of the guild gazette with out any issue. Did you contact the publisher to see what their response was? Quote
