amdaley Posted September 5, 2024 Posted September 5, 2024 Hi Everyone. How long does it normally take Mark's Models to dispatch orders & do they send you an email when they dispatch an order. I ordered some track online last Sat & have heard nothing since. Not in any particular hurry but just wanted to know as I normally don't use Marks ? Thanks. Tony. 1 Quote
irishmail Posted September 5, 2024 Posted September 5, 2024 I have only delt with them a few times. Last time I ordered online from them it took about three days before they done the order. I did get an email when the order was posted, but no tracking info. You should of heard from them by now, so maybe a quick call to them. 1 Quote

The GLS courier just left it propped up against a wall on the side of the house where nobody goes. No attempt to ring the bell or anything & I got no notification from Marks that it had been dispatched or delivered. That's twice in two weeks now we've had problems with GLS Previously they left a large box of dog food out in the lashing rain. Tony. 1 Quote
irishmail Posted September 5, 2024 Posted September 5, 2024 Strangely enough I had a delivery from MSL lippe in Germany by GLS last week. Tracking originally said out for delivery for Thursday, then later that night got email from them saying sorry we were unable to deliver your parcel, but no reason given, the next day exactly the same thing happened, and it was eventually delivered on Saturday afternoon. Have found GLS can be hit and miss, depending on who the delivery driver is, some knock at the door and hand over the parcel, some just leave it. 1 Quote

I had a similar experience with GLS recently too John. 1 Quote

Yes a lot seems to be down to the driver on that particular route. It's just the luck of the draw I suppose. When I spoke to Mark this evening he said they also use An Post & Fastway & if you tell them when ordering they will use one the those instead of GLS. They also use DPD but not for orders which have free postage. Edited September 5, 2024 by amdaley Quote

amdaley Posted December 24, 2024 Author Posted December 24, 2024 (edited) I had something coming from Germany since Dec 11th. Got an email after a few days telling me it was delayed. Nothing since. Rang customer service & was no 13 in the que. When I got to no 1 the call was dropped & I was cut off. Sent them an email & yes you've guessed it, never got a reply. A complete waste of a company Edited December 24, 2024 by amdaley Quote
Colin_McLeod Posted December 24, 2024 Posted December 24, 2024 Use your wordprocessing skills to send them what looks like a solicitor's letter demanding immediate despatch by tracked service. Quote

Yes, it eventually turned up last week. Never got a reply to my emails to GLS which is no surprise. Disaster of a company. Quote
irishmail Posted January 13 Posted January 13 Got a reply from GLS, seems a feeble excuse blaming Holyhead, especially as I have had delivery's from UK and EU since then. They did not even tell me where the parcel currently is! I have now contacted the supplier in Germany and await their reply. "Hey , Thankyou for reaching out to GLS Customer service. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience caused. This parcel is still in transit and we are facing some delays due to backlog of parcels from December as these were stuck due to the holyhead issue. Please reach out if any further assist is required. Thanks. Regards Shhivansh GLS Customer Representative" Quote

irishmail Posted Saturday at 12:32 Posted Saturday at 12:32 GLS 'good luck service'! Parcel finally delivered from Germany yesterday having been shipped on 30th Dec. Pity the retailer don't offer an alternative option for posting. 1 Quote
Mayner Posted Saturday at 20:22 Posted Saturday at 20:22 Had an interesting experience with DHL couriering an important document to the States over the Christmas New Year period. Document was supposed to have been collected by DHL in New Zealand on Christmas Eve then silence until 6th Jan when they actually collected the document when the sender's office re-opened after the Christmas break. DHL handled the international air side in 3 days from Auckland to their Minnesota hub before handing over to their "local partner" for delivery (525miles) receiving "out for delivery" notifications for 3 days, before receiving a notification that the item was delivered at 03:00 on Sunday morning! Followed up with the sender for proof of delivery and were assured that the document was placed in our (non-existent) mailbox by DHLs delivery partner United States Postal Service. It turned out that the document was delivered to our families PO Box at the local post office although addressed to our physical address. I guess the mail van did the cities (500pop) mail drop during the early hours of Sunday morning before driving to the next city in the State. At the end of the day the document arrived just in time. 1 Quote
