Mayner Posted February 14 Posted February 14 I produced a test etch for these wagons about 10 years ago, which for a variety of reasons (mainly the absence of suitable detail parts) did not progress to production. I am considering producing a production version of the kit and accepting feedback/expressions of interest to accept potential demand. If there is sufficent interest its estimated that an etch containing parts for two wagons would retail at approx. £30 Stg + Vat & Postage shipped directv from our UK supplier. The production version will include a number of corrections identified from the original test build and may potentially include a version compitable with sprung suspension. The kit is basically self jigging using fold together slot and tab construction and although I prefer solder this kit is suitable for glued assembly (using superglue). If there is sufficient interest I will consider producing a set of 3D printed detail parts 2 1 Quote
Mol_PMB Posted February 14 Posted February 14 Hi John, I would certainly be interested in some of these, probably 2 pairs though I might have my arm twisted for 3 pairs. For info on the detail castings: Wizard Models BRC025 should be suitable for the axlebox/spring castings: Accurascale SKU ACC2013OLEO12 are sprung OLEO buffers with 16" heads, which may also be suitable. They need a base plate to mount on; I included some of these on the corner of my E401 etch artwork, but it may be worth adding them to your revised etch artwork to facilitate this option. A very quick test assembly here: IRM also offer the ISO container mounting spigots as spares from their 42' flats. Other than that, a vacuum cylinder is needed but they're easy to find and many modellers will have a few spares lurking in stock already. Quote

EDIT to add: and a matching set of 3D-printed detail parts Edited February 14 by Horsetan 1 Quote
