Hi all,

Im currently planning on building a layout and the way in building it and wondering if anyone has a diagram of the shed and maybe turntable,

Im hoping to build connolly shed and its turntable as a first layout to junction off from my circuit of double track in my bedroom

I also might document the journey here from building the shed to running locos up and down

Where Connolly shed will be

Where I then had the idea to put in the turntable

So I can remove the white shelf where my 141 is displayed but as u can notice chunk the brink went, not to worry as there will be wooden support beams put in as I will have locos and other rolling stock up on there

Also am drawing on a4 sheet of paper a dimensional diagram of the future layout and hoping from IE’s FOIs that they will supply a drawing of Connolly shed its self and maybe the yellow brick house and turntable next to it, if not I’ll ask as the FOIs are a great, easily alternative to source specific needs based on our railways as many would know

What era of shed are you doing?it has 3 roads in and shutters but up the the early 70s it had 4 tracks and 4 brick arches.iv tried to find detailed plans of the shed and out buildings but didn't have any luck.did find on an OS MAP that there was a coal yard beside the turntable.

I’d forward them onto u when I get an email of them but for now I’ll work with
Sketches of support and board

Measurements of the area where it will be in my room

Track layout(satellite view from google earth will work perfect)

and I’ve photos of other extra details like junction boxes I took on my way to Bangor that morning

9Yeah I used Google maps for measurements. While not exact its a good indicator.my shed is 250 mm wide and 900 mm long which is a bit short.turn table is about 200 mm. If you use anyrail you can drop a Google image in and layout track plans over it. Iv stalled as iv no clue how to put it into a layout.id be interested to see how you overcome this as I don't have a lot of space. Screenshot_20250413-072410_GoogleEarth.thumb.jpg.96261f8a63c9844daf920a26290d1027.jpg

Only seeing this thread now. See attached drawings which I did some time ago. All based on my own research: - historial drawings; photographs, counting bricks and approximating heights etc., many from open source material. Hope these help. Eamonn

Conno;ly Shed - elevation.pdf Connolly Shed - part plan & elevation.pdf

I should also say I have drawn all elevations which include the water tanks if that is of any good to you. I cannot vouch that all of these drawings are 100% accurate!
