BosKonay Posted December 6, 2013 Author Posted December 6, 2013 "The RPSI's ex-GNR(I) 4-4-0 NO. 85 "Merlin" was in steam on Thursday night, 5th December. This was for some test running, including testing the speedometer and the AWS. There was also a lot of posing around under the yard lights!" From Mike Beckett Quote

Dunluce Castle Posted December 7, 2013 Posted December 7, 2013 Thanks for that, It really is an amazing video, mike Beckett does wonders with his camera, he is a true professional. Quote
Southern Yard Posted December 8, 2013 Posted December 8, 2013 Lovely camera work, very atmospheric capturing what steam is all about. Look forward to 2014 and seeing her on the mainline. Quote
Lough Erne Posted December 8, 2013 Posted December 8, 2013 It was a very successful and enjoyable evening on Thursday. From mikes superb film (only one of many) the majority of electrical testing has been done in preparation for the main electrical/steam/brake etc tests in the near future. There is no lining on the loco yet - only about 3/7 of the tender but it is hoped to have her done by the new year. Test trains are still to be confirmed as there are still paper work mountains to be scaled but it should be middle/late January early Feb all being well. Quote
