"The RPSI's ex-GNR(I) 4-4-0 NO. 85 "Merlin" was in steam on Thursday night, 5th December. This was for some test running, including testing the speedometer and the AWS. There was also a lot of posing around under the yard lights!" From Mike Beckett

I have seen some absolutely superb VS, but a V shouldn't be too hard as a conversion?

Apparently you can convert the SSM "V" kit into a VS..... "Boyne": the one that got away....

It was a very successful and enjoyable evening on Thursday. From mikes superb film (only one of many) the majority of electrical testing has been done in preparation for the main electrical/steam/brake etc tests in the near future. There is no lining on the loco yet - only about 3/7 of the tender but it is hoped to have her done by the new year. Test trains are still to be confirmed as there are still paper work mountains to be scaled but it should be middle/late January early Feb all being well.
