thewanderer
Evening folks, The latest update is one of my occasional features about disused railways, the latest update features the Silvermines Branch & Kilmastulla Siding in North Tipperary on the Limerick to Ballybrophy railway. The first to open was the 1 1/4 mile spur to Silvermines in 1966 to serve a barytes mine. The mine and branch closed in 1993. The second freight spur opened in October 1982 to serve a shale quarry at Kilmastulla. With the opening of the M7 motorway this traffic ended suddenly in December 2009 and the wagons are now stored at Limerick with Kilmastulla Siding now disused since that date. The good old days! I lived in London up to 1989 and used to use Waterloo East occasionally as a friend of my Mother's lived in Elmstead Woods. My home patch was the South Western Division out of Waterloo. Earlier this morning I was down at the site of the Clapham Jct. crash, but while watching 455's pass under me, I was reminded of watching 455's pass under me at Whitton while my Dad and I waited to collect my Mother off the train.

Irishswissernie
As the Mrs is on school holidays not much chance of getting any modelling or converting more of my old Irish videos for uploading but as she wanted to go to the beach last week we went down to Cambois near Blyth, once a hot spot heaving with rail action but now reduced last week to one train in 5 days. At the end of the video a different idea for modelling a port scene for consideration! Ernie
