thewanderer Posted November 20, 2016 Author Posted November 20, 2016 Evening all, The latest update to the website is pictures from a weekend in London. The reason for the trip was to visit the London Transport Museum Depot at Acton Town for a guided tour called "Cab it" where you can visit all of the cabs of the Underground cars on display here. Pictures from that visit are online at http://smu.gs/2gtippu - well worth a visit if your in London and there on a weekend that it is open. The other update tonight is the other pictures from London on Saturday and includes: - Acton Town - Hammersmith - Euston - Camden Town - Waterloo - Clapham Jct. - Feltham Click http://smu.gs/2gtbdtJ to view. Pictures from Sunday will be posted online with the next few days. Enjoy! Quote
thewanderer Posted November 21, 2016 Author Posted November 21, 2016 Evening all, Iarnród Éireann launched their new commuter services connecting stations between Newbridge and Parkwest with Connolly to Grand Canal Dock via the Phoenix Park Tunnel line on Monday 21st November. The introduction of the new services follows an investment of €13.7 million in upgrading the Phoenix Park Tunnel route, funded by the National Transport Authority. Seven new morning peak trains to Grand Canal Dock, and eight new evening peak trains from Grand Canal Dock begin on Monday 21st November, with limited stop services in the opposite direction. Passenger loadings on the two inbound services this morning which I travelled on were very healthy and it is a good indication that it will be a popular service in the coming years. This is the first phase of services to operate via the Phoenix Park Tunnel. Iarnród Éireann and the National Transport Authority plan to expand services in the future to include off-peak and weekend services. Click http://smu.gs/2gvoIZS to view. There will also be a video uploaded to the gallery and pictures of one of the evening peak workings later this evening (all going to plan). Quote
hurricanemk1c Posted November 21, 2016 Posted November 21, 2016 Evening all, As above, I was on the first of the new Grand Canal Dock services, as well as a few additional runs around the place in the morning and also doing a couple of runs in the evening, although avoiding the tunnel itself. As always, click on the photos below to view them all Album link - Regards, Kieran Quote

leslie10646 Posted November 28, 2016 Posted November 28, 2016 For goodness sake, Beaumont, you could have worn a tie! It takes a gentleman like Barry to launch a book properly attired! Seriously, the Book was VERY well received at Warley - literally flying off our stand. I've had to order more for Thursday's meeting of the IRRS in London! Leslie Quote

hurricanemk1c Posted December 4, 2016 Posted December 4, 2016 Good morning all, December kicks off with potentially the moves of the year - the transfer of the RPSI Wooden Body stock. Whilst the steel Cravens were out earning their keep on the Pearse - Greystones Santa Specials, I went to the Gullet for a shot of Tranfer 1, with coaches 1463, 1419, 2421 and 1383 moving first. As always, click on any of the photos to view them full size A quick dash to the Box at Islandbridge Jn: -- For the second move, the train was to go into Platform 5 and then propel into the VP, rather than go straight in as on the first move. Luckily I was in a position to get photos of this December album link - Regards, Kieran Quote

thewanderer Posted December 15, 2016 Author Posted December 15, 2016 Good evening folks I've spent the evening catching up on the photos since last weekend. The December gallery has images from: - Limerick - Ballybrophy - Newbridge - Adamstown - Drumcondra - Broombridge - Cabra: 226 on the IWT Liner. - Heuston: 231 on the 1900 to Cork plus ICR's on the 1935 to Galway. Click http://smu.gs/2gOOrNn to view. Also updated is the LUAS Cross City line with a long overdue photographic survey of the route between Broombridge and St. Stephen's Green. Fantastic progress has been made on the entire route with all the track laid in the city centre and a good portion of the route between Broadstone and Broombridge is also laid. Due to the atrocious weather on this day with heavy rain, several of the photographs aren't to the standard I would aspire to. Click http://smu.gs/2hpOpe7 to view. Quote
